Now that I have installed the Galleria album, when creating a new Album template, I'm unable to select the Pangolin Galleria type (although it is installed. Actually, there's no drop-down list to chose from. The page displays
Type
Backlight Standard Album
and that's it. No choice. I can't even select other templates that I had created earlier. I have the same problem with the album set templates. Only when creating a new page template am I able to select a particular template from a drop-down list.
This bug is new. I've never seen this before. I have cleared the template cache but this didn't help. So, I'm stuck.

Your page template needs to be a Pangolin Page template, not the old Okapi Standard Page template.
Create a new Galleria album template using a Pangolin Page template.
Assign this new album template to the album.

Also make sure you’ve created a Pangolin Page template and that you’re using the latest version of Backlight (1.2.3 release 4, which is required for Galleria)
If these have been done, then when you go to create a new album template, Pangolin Galleria will be one of the choices.

Rod,
The documentation says this :
In Backlight's menu, go Designer ⇒ Templates.
Scroll down to the Album Templates list, and click “Create New Template”.
Name the template, and for Type choose “Pangolin Galleria”; click “Add”.
I cannot create a new Galleria album template because when I click on Create New Template under the list of album templates, I have no choice. As described in my previous post, the page has no drop-down list to select from. The Backlight standard album is the forced and only choice.
Maybe the documentation is wrong ?
I don't understand your statement "Create a new Galleria album template using a Pangolin Page template.". To create a new album template, I normally have to click on Create New Template under the list of album templates not on the button under Page Templates.

OK. My message was posted before I could read your last one.
When I purchased the Galleria add-on, there was no mention of the Pangolin page template being required. So, I have to re-design the whole album set, which is not what I expected.

No need to redesign the album set. You just need to create a new Pangolin Page template (using the latest version of Backlight) and design it so that it matches, as close as possible, your existing Okapi (presumably) design.
Then create a new album template and choose Pangolin Galleria.

Yes, but the Pangolin and Standard page templates are quite different. The Pangolin page template introduces new settings that are not that obvious to understand and to match to those in the standard template.
More generally, the main problem with the Backlight product remains the documentation. One has to guess what a setting is supposed to do and this is very time consuming. TTG have not published any document allowing (at least) to make a correspondence between visual elements of the generated pages and a setting name. Or did I miss it ?
