I've been using TTGs CE pages, CRG, and others since soon after they came out. Last year, I bought BL because I wanted to stay current and support TTG but haven't done anything with it. If it ain't broke....
So I'm wondering what would be the benefit of rebuilding my site with BL besides that my site needs a re-fresh. What features does if offer that I'm not aware of? Will it allow full screen images, I call it the New York Times effect?
I know I've had some PTSD (Post Traumatic Site Disorder) with going nuts trying to find out how to change small things and found it difficult due to a lack of documentation as to what each slider would control, which I don't want to re-create just to end up with the same site I have now.
Open to thought and suggestions.

One of the biggest advantages is in ditching the Web Module. No more designing in that slow, clunky Lightroom interface.
Changes to design are fast and easy. And you can see then online instantly.
New features like the Top Pallet as well as the side pallets. The side pallets are great for mobile too.
more hook locations for phplugins.
Phplugins and custom css are much easier to implement.
Built in support for dual mastheads (desktop, mobile)
A bunch of other options for the mastheads.
All in all, I find Backlight much easier and faster to work with

Whether the full-screen button on the large images does what you want, you'll have to judge.
In the Theater module, the Vegas slide show has a full screen option that fills the screen completely.

So to get full screen, I have to buy another add-on?
Any video tuts on Backlight? It would be a lot faster than text documentation and looks pretty complicated so far if you don't know what's going on, even with CE experience. Again, I've found TTG tools to be great, but the "how to use" part challenging, which has kept me from trying to figure them out

The full screen slide show is not for single images.
There is a video tutorial right at the top of the Backlight Docs page.

And it's not clear to me what type of full-screen experience you're looking for. The standard albums allow you to view images in a full-browser or full-screen after clicking a thumbnail. Or perhaps you're talking about a full-page "full-screen" presentation, like Theater and/or Galleria offer.
Another advantage with Backlight, the interplay between slideshows and CRG/Cart popups is super nice. We no longer need to close the slideshow to open a CRG/Cart modal, so the user is not taken out of the experience. It's all far smoother to use.
