Backlight stand alone ?
I am trying to divest myself from Lightroom and Photoshop and their monthly charges. I have moved to Capture one, really like it, it just takes perseverance to get into it.
That being said I would like to upgrade my website, that is using CE4 and use Backlight…. But is Backlight stand alone?
1 -Can I make use of it without using Lightroom?
2 -Can I just upload images via FTP?
I have seen some posts regarding backlight being stand alone but nothing concrete in regards to this.
Any thoughts on this?
Is it possible?

Backlight currently requires Lightroom to publish your albums.
You could us it to create stand-alone pages, but publishing albums requires Lightroom.

The next major release of Backlight due in the next few months will have standalone support.

For what it's worth, I am also moving to Capture One. So amongst all other reasons, I am personally invested in seeing Backlight fully liberated for any and all Lightroom dependency.
In the meantime, I can help you with setting up a Capture One to Lightroom to Backlight publishing workflow using watched folders. Let me know if you'd like to discuss it.

Thanks for the offer, still getting everything into C1, takes time. So will probably wait on the next release of backlight for it to be fully standalone and will go from there.
