The newest blog post on Backlight's search function inspired me to turn on the Quick Search function. It indicated all I needed to do was turn on the quick search option on my page template in the top pallet. Unfortunately, I can't for the life of me find any reference to top pallet anywhere. Can someone tell me where to go and where to look? I'm sure I'm overlooking it but I swear I looked everywhere and if it's there, I can't find it. Thanks.

Are you using the newer Pangolin design module, or the older Okapi one?
There's no such feature in Okapi; you need to be using Pangolin. In which case, you should see a blue-headed control group dedicated to the Top Pallet when designing a page template.

Matthew - I suspected that was what you were going to say. So, that begs my next question. I've been faithful about updating Backlight and have ver 1.2.3 rel 4 currently installed. Is there something else I have to do (convert templates etc) to be using Pangolin? If so what? I do notice I have any number of Pangolin directories installed under Backlight. Let me know and thanks for the quick reply. You and your other helper guys have always been very helpful and responsive. - Bill

If you've updated from Backlight 1.1.x to 1.2.x Pangolin, you're probably still using Okapi based page templates. So that's probably what's going on.
What you need to do is to create new Pangolin page templates. Unfortunately, this means starting over with your design as there is no tool to convert Okapi based page templates to Pangolin page templates.

Matthew - I went back and reviewed your blog post on moving from Okapi to Pangolin. It generally made sense to me but I'm still confused when you say create new templates with Pangolin. Where and how do I make the decision to create Pangolin rather than Okapi templates? Otherwise, I think I know what I have to do. Bill

If you want the new Pangolin features, then create a Pangolin page template.
In Designer > Templates click on Create New Template
On the Create Template page, under the Type drop-down, choose Pangolin Page
