I'm still using CE3...publisher and lost my website when I changed my internet host. Is there any way I can get publisher to locate my new server or do I need to update to Backlight?

Have you tried entering your new API url into Publisher?

Hi,
I tried getting that from phone support of my hosting service and they seemed to not know what it was. Maybe I need to try and call them again.
Thanks,
Robert

The url should simply be http://yoursite.com/publisher/api/

Have you checked to see that all the folders and files have made the transition? You could try uploading the publisher files again, setting your API key before you do. Basically reinstalling Publisher on the server.
That being said, CE3 is pretty old and Backlight offers a lot more functionality, flexibility, and ease of use. Plus, a Backlight site is much more mobile friendly and uses the latest web standards.

Hi,
I get an "unable to find publisher" message when I try to publish my website. My hosting service says I will need to enter my user name and my password from my web hosting account into the FTP software. In this case that is in lightroom or in publisher. So any idea how I can access that with CE3?
Thanks,
Robert

Hi,
So as I remember it took me hours and hours to get CE3 set up. Is backlight a bit easier?
Thanks,
Robert

Sounds like you need to reinstall publisher according to the documentation.
Backlight is a lot easier to set up—no files to manually edit to set up Publisher. The Publisher API key is set in the Backlight online interface.
Before you update though, make sure to check that your hosting is compatible. See the bottom of this page:

From your original download?
I don’t believe it’s available any more but you can try asking Matt by using the Contact Form on the support page.

Hi,
I'm still not able to publish my collections using Lightroom. I checked the Lightroom Plug In manager and my (old) CE3 is up and running. I get this message: "unable to find publisher" when I try to publish my collections. I have changed Web hosts and is it possible I need to somehow(?) put my info back into the web server? So how would I do that, like I'm starting over with CE3?
thanks for any help,
Robert

I would try installing (or reinstalling) the server side portion of Publisher just as if it was a new installation.
Are you also seeing CE3 Publisher in the Plug-ins manager?
