(1) I just purchased backlight on 02.12.2018. I followed the server side instructions and can't get logged into setup using admin / ttg8888. This is the error I received: "Something went wrong count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in SimpleHTMLTag.php on line 44"
url: http://portal-redesign.tomswarbirds.com/backlight/ (physically point to /portal-redesign/backlight/)
physical server dirs (set to 2755):
portal-redesign/backlight/
portal-redesign/galleries/
portal-redesign/index.php
portal-redesign/.htaccess
(2) backlight will become a branch of active http://tomswarbirds.com where the existing database and assets will be replaced with a brand new front end which will use backlight image and video capabilities allowing me to use lightroomCC.
My question: can I place backlight down a level from home (root) into a structure like: /tomswarbirds.com/wlrm/backlight/. I need to separate home /tomswarbirds.com/index.html from index.php (in backlight install)

Yes you can. Many users install backlight into a sub folder for development

(1): Your are using PHP version 7.2.1. If you can, please select 7.1 or lower. Otherwise, check Ben's reply in http://community.theturninggate.net/vie … hp?id=8421
(2): If Backlight resides in wlrm, you can't have any Backlight related pages in the root of your site '/'.

Thanks much Ben and Daniel!
That did the trick. I changed the server php version back to 7.1 (from 7.2) and made the file mods suggested (in your link) fixing the problem.

I'm glad that solved it, however I don't think you needed to change it to 7.1. That reminds me that I need to get back onto testing with 7.2 and deploying a fix.
