I have just installed Backlight. All works well except sending mail from the contact form.
I use Office356 / Outlook 2016. With mail type on MAIL, I can send the mail but I never receive.
When I change the settings to send to my gmail address I get error messages like: Something went wrong
fsockopen(): unable to connect to ssl://smtp.gmail.com:465 (Network is unreachable) in SMTP.php on line 125
I work on an iMac with Chrome as Internet browser and the latest version of Backlight.
I have tried almost everything but it won't work. Please help!

Have you seen this from the docs?
http://backlight.theturninggate.net/doc … n_bluehost
From what I understand, it can also apply to hosts other than Bluehost

I have tried this but the new value of sendmail does not show in View PHP Info. I see only:
sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i
The line I added in php.ini:
sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i -f 'fotografie@bleeker-vision.nl'

There must be another way. It worked also in CE4 ...

Ben will need to take a look. He may need Backlight Admin credentials as well as FTP access. You can save some time by sending him an email with those logins and a link to this topic. He may also want to know who you're hosting with.

Your host doesn’t allow the use of smtp. If you need to use smtp then you’ll need to take this up with their technical support. Otherwise, use ‘mail’. Are any emails received, in junk or otherwise? Is your sender address from the same domain as your site and have you configured that email address in your site’s control panel?
Who are you hosting with?

Hi Ben, I will send you an email with further info.

Workaround found. The contact form now sends to a gmail account with mail type MAIL.

That's good to hear. So the issue was with your receiving email address and not in outgoing email?

@Ben - What was the workaround found here?

Bleeker never replied, so that's an unknown. Please see my reply on your other thread.
