I want to have text beneath the photo in internet.
In the file info of the photo I have text in the Document title and I have text in the DESCRIPTION. Also the same text is in Lightroom in the head and in the SUBTITLE. But the text in de description or in the subtitle will not show up in Internet. Instead I see the filename. Is there someway to alter that.
If I have to put an entry in a css file, my question is which file and how?
Or if I have to put something in the album template in the photos caption or photos title, what syntax do I have to use?

for metadata under the album thumbnails, go into your album template Thumbnail Grid > Metadata Display
for metadata under the large image display, go to Photo Presentation > Captions
Use metadata tokens: http://backlight.theturninggate.net/doc … ata_tokens
republish all albums for the changes to appear.
to speed this up you can check the "Push metadata....' checkbox in Publisher setup in Lightroom.

I am sorry but I have tried everything, but I don't understand tokens and how to use them.
In the album settings beneath the image settings and imagedata I have entered {state} by thumbnails MD01, {country} by thumbnails MD 02, {caption} by photo's caption and {title} by photo title. Also I have put these tokens? in Lightroom by page copy. But I don't see this information anywhere in my website. Especially not beneath my photo's .

What am I doing wrong?

You need to put the tokens in the appropriate fields in the album template in Backlight. Tokens are case sensitive. So use {Caption} instead of {caption}, for example.
Also, be sure to republish albums

Did you republish the album(s) after changing the metadata?

I see you're still using the Okapi version of Backlight.
for the large photo metadata there is a "Caption" field and "Title" field. Place tokens in the Caption field for the metadata you want to be visible under the picture. The "Title" field is used for the images Title metadata attribute and will not be visible on the page.

on your site you've put {description} in the album page copy. This will not add metadata to the page copy. Also, {description} is not a valid token.

Yes I did republish and I used all {Caption}, {Title} etc, but I can't find them anywhere. When I look at the questions being asked about tokens subject this is for beginners a big problem.

Make sure you're adding the tokens to the correct album template. Be sure to save that template.
You may also need to clear template cache by going to Designer > Templates > Clear Template Cache in the Backlight menu.
If you want, I can take a look at your Backlight settings, just provide guest updater credentials

I used the following album template: pangolin theater one slide with photo caption and the following collection:

the user is guest and the password is gasten.
I hope you can see what the problem is.

I can't view the album template settings. Make sure the guest user role is set to guest updater.

Sorry, I have changed that.

In the Lightroom Library, do you have information in the State and Country metadata fields for each image?
{description} is not a valid token. I've changed it to {Caption} but you will need to republish the album.

In this groep of photo's I have State and Country information and I have seen it there at one time but I don't know how I did it. I have now republished the photo's but still I can't see the information.
I have to take a pause now, because I am going to eat chrismas diner.

have you tried clearing template cache?
I looked at the Album in Backlight an see that it's a different template than mentioned above.
Also, the name of the template is misleading: pangolin theater one slide with photo caption
This is neither a Pangolin album nor a Theater album (it's a standard Okapi-based album). Not that the name makes a difference it what's shown, it's just that it can be confusing when creating albums in Lightroom.
in the Photo Title field you ave {Caption|Title}. In case you didn't know, what this will do is to fill the title attribute with the image caption unless the image caption field is empty. In that case it will use the image title.

The album you originally linked to is gone. But there are others that are using that same template.
Looking at the page source code of the Urban album, I don't see any of the metadata you're wanting to add. This tells me that the album has not been republished. Can you try marking all images to be republished and publish them again?

First create a new page template. When you do, you’ll have the choice between a Standard Backlight Page or Pangolin Page template.
Then create a new album template. Under a Type, choose Pangolin Album and assign you Pangolin Page template.
