Gallery/Publisher issue after migrating from testsite

I've noticed that after migrating my site over from test to live, the address of my published galleries in Lightroom reflect the test site even after changing the publisher link in the Publisher Service API field. I'm certain that the updates to the galleries are going to the test site and not the live one. It is strange because the images were published to the live site when I changed the service config (changing the location of the publisher API). How does one change this and how did it switch from the initial publish on the live site back to publishing updates to the test site?

Re: Gallery/Publisher issue after migrating from testsite

Your galleries seem to be working just fine. All gallery urls are going to divinemayhem.com/galleries/albumset/album/

In Lightroom, your Publisher url for your main site should be : http://www.divinemayhem.com/backlight/publisher/

After making that change, be sure to click the Save button at the bottom of the dialog box.

Re: Gallery/Publisher issue after migrating from testsite

FWIW, I just tested migrating my entire Pangolin test site to another sub-domain I created for the purpose.
I downloaded the backlight/ and galleries/ folder as well as the index.php and .htaccess files from the original test site.
I then uploaded them to the new migrate test subdomain.
I logged in to Backlight on the migrate test site and changed URLs.
Testing the site, the albums and album sets were all there and working.
I changed the Publisher URL in the Publisher instance that controls the test site and verified it.
I then added an image to one of the albums on the new migrate test subdomain. It was published and all seems to be working.

Re: Gallery/Publisher issue after migrating from testsite

My 'Travel Photography' album set is not being published to the live site. They're being published to the test site. They were added after the migration.

Yet the published gallery is in the correct place.

I've marked the set to republish and published it several times. No change.

The galleries in Lightroom show a link to the test site in the title bar. I'll have to take a screenshot when I'm back in my office.

Re: Gallery/Publisher issue after migrating from testsite

I see that the Travel Photography album set is showing up on the list when you look in Backlight > Publisher > Top Level Galleries > Galleries.
I can view the albums when I click "view" next to the albums in the set, it's just that the album set won't show up on the site.

There's a special link in the Backlight > Publisher dashboard titled: Update Album Files. You can try clicking on this or wait until Ben can see this and advise further.

Re: Gallery/Publisher issue after migrating from testsite

I've tried the Update Album Files option. It didn't seem to fix the missing album set on the site or the address that shows in Lightroom. Here's what I see when I go to the album set in Lightroom:
Travel-SET.PNG

The 'Arizona' gallery which should be one level down from that is at:
Travel-Arizona.PNG

I notice that the 'Publish' button is clickable in the album set and not in the actual album, but that doesn't seem to have any effect.

Funny, I've never noticed the URL shown in LR, till seeing your screenshot.  That value shown is only where LR thinks the album is and shouldn't affect anything on the server.  Try editing and saving the album, or re-publishing a single image to see whether it gets updated to the correct location.

Re: Gallery/Publisher issue after migrating from testsite

I'm finding that the images are updating to the correct galleries. I'm most curious on how to fix the album set at this point. My thought is that I could create a slightly differently worded title for 'Travel Photography' and move the sub galleries into it, but that may break things. Do you believe that I could rename the 'Travel Photography' album set (to, say, 'Travel-OLD), create a new album set named 'Travel Photography' and move the galleries over to it? Once moved, I can delete the empty Travel-OLD album set?

Re: Gallery/Publisher issue after migrating from testsite

That might be a pretty good idea.
Create a new album set in Lightroom Publisher.
Move the albums into it.
Delete the old album set
Rename the new one

Bravery > Patience
That worked. I haven't attempted to rename the slug after I deleted the old empty album set, but it works just fine now. The links and text in Lightroom properly reflect the correct web address too. Maybe I'll do the same to some of the other album sets/albums that show the test site's address. For now, I'm happy that it works!

Thanks all!

I had some odd problems about Lightroom not sync'ing to the correct location on the web site. When it was really strange, I did the above steps. I have dozens of albums, and after migrating from CE4 there were a couple that just wouldn't sync correctly.

I found the above was the quickest way to fix the problem.

I would select all the photos in the old album. Then create a new album with the selected photos. I found this even keeps my custom sort order.

I would set the new album to be hidden. Set everything in the new album to be the correct info (name, description, etc). Just change the slug to "NEW" or something just so it's different than the correct/old slug.

Publish the new album. Confirm the new album is correct on the site.

Delete the old album. Then rename the new slug and change it so that it's no longer hidden.
