Page Template terminology

Under Layout, there are Pallets and Columns.
Is a Pallet actually a Column?

Re: Page Template terminology

yes. The pallets will go in the columns. A two column layout will contain the page's main content and a column for a pallet. It's basically the same thing as a sidebar in WordPress.
A three column layout will accommodate two pallets.

give it a try by changing column layouts and pallet positions. You'll soon see how it works.
