Starting with Pangolin

Hi,
I've had a Backlight (+Pages) site running for a while now, updated to 1.2.3.  I just looked at Matt's latest blog post regarding mastheads, and went to follow through on my site, but the Pangolin features don't appear in the template editor.

I've tried creating a new page template, but still don't see the Pangolin features, and can't see any way of forcing the template to use Pangolin.

Am I being stupid and missing something, or is there a problem with my installation?

Thanks
Geoff

Re: Starting with Pangolin

Hi Geoff,

If you're running 1.2.3, then you should have the "pangolin-..." folders inside of your backlight/modules folder. These will allow you to create new templates using the Pangolin feature set. You should have pangolin-album, pangolin-album-set and pangolin-page at minimum. There are also pangolin versions of several add-ons.

It sounds like you may have neglected to upload the contents of the backlight/modules folder.

Re: Starting with Pangolin

Thanks Matt.

The four 'pangolin-...' folders (-core, -page, -album and -album-set) are there.  I did have some problems when I first installed 1.2.3 which (with Rod Barbee's help) I think were related to permissions, so all are now set to 755.

I'll try re-uploading the pangolin bits.

Re: Starting with Pangolin

Have you created a Pangolin page template yet? (you say you created a new page template, but you still should have the option of Okapi or Pangolin when creating a new template.

Thanks Rod and Matt.

Sometimes my own stupidity truly amazes me!

I found that dropdown moments before Rod’s post landed!

Apologies.

Re: Starting with Pangolin

No problem. It's really easy to think that since you've updated, your existing templates should have the updated features.
This will no doubt help others.
