Hi Rod,
I just purchased backlight for the first time.
I want to install it on my website but in a sub folder named "galleries". I don't want it taking over the existing website. Would you be able to help at all?
Many thanks Robert

You can install Backlight in a sub-folder if you wish.
But if you’re not using the Pages module, there really is no need to.
You can upload the backlight/ and galleries/ folders to the root of your site and set up Backlight and Publisher to just create albums and album sets inside the galleries/ folder.

As Rod says, Backlight doesn't really take things over. If you have an existing Wordpress site, for example, then it's okay to mingle the two in the same location, e.g.
backlight/
galleries/
.htaccess (from WP)
index.html (from WP)
wp-admin/
wp-content/
etc.
Also as Rod says, this setup suggests that you are NOT using the Pages Add-on.
If you want to provide us more information about what you've got set up already, we may be able to offer more specific advice.
