PAGES EMAIL FORM RECEIVING ENORMOUS QUANTITY OF SPAM BOT MESSAGES

Hi,

Since I started using TTG plugins a few years back, everything was fine, but about half a year ago I started receiving spam messages through the email contact form in my CE4 Pages website. But since a few days ago I started receiving a message every 5 minutes through this form. The message is same or almost the same, sometimes in changes a bit, pretty sure is a spam bot or similar.

How can I fix this? How can I stop receiving spam bot messages through this form?

NEED HELP ASAP PLEASE, THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!

Re: PAGES EMAIL FORM RECEIVING ENORMOUS QUANTITY OF SPAM BOT MESSAGES

a few years back, one user added recaptcha to the CE4 Pages contact.php page via a Google plugin. Maybe that will help

(Backlight has reCaptcha built in)

Re: PAGES EMAIL FORM RECEIVING ENORMOUS QUANTITY OF SPAM BOT MESSAGES

Copy-and-pasting the same reply I sent via email:

First thing, if the message is always the same, then it should be easy to build a filter to send those emails to trash/spam. That first step should make things more pleasant for you in the short term.

CE4 Pages -- via TTG BE -- has some spam prevention measures built in. Obviously, these are now being defeated. So, you might then want to hack Google's reCaptcha into the form. Signup and setup are here:
https://www.google.com/recaptcha/

Backlight has reCaptcha support baked in, plus myriad other improvements. Much as I hate to answer a support request with an up-sell, this might be a good time for you to upgrade.
