When I changed all galleries to the new Pangolin templates, all captions with the metadata are empty under the thumbnails. This is normal, because I have to upload the metadata again.
But curious is - there is one album where the caption with the metadata is not empty. All is visible.

You may need to re-publish your metadata after updating templates.

Yes, this is what I wrote. But I did not upload the metadata again. But there is still an album which shows the Metadata.

Check your metadata settings for the template. Make sure they are on or off, as is your preference, and that the tokens are correctly set.

All ok. It seems, that I have uploaded this metadata at home while my first test.
No more remembered.
Thanks, Rainer

Now, at home, I have republished all metadata again, but they will not appear under the thumbnails.
In Pangolin Album Template it is {caption} like in Okapi Album Template.

can you post a link to an album?
In Pangolin Album Template it is {caption} like in Okapi Album Template.
It's actually {Caption} (capitalize the C)

It is {Caption}.
You can use each album of my website below.

The page source code indicates that no metadata is being added to the thumbnail display (specifically to the list item in the figcaption).
I can see the caption in the <figcaption> html element, but not in the <li> item below that.
the only thing I can suggest is double checking the album template that you're using. (album-template-id-22)
Under Thumbnail Grid, make sure you've turned on Metadata One or Metadata Two or both and that the appropriate tokens have been added.
Republish the images.

Metadata 1 is turned on, token is {Caption}. Push Metadata without updating existing photos.
Now I cannot find a mistake of mine.

If I change the Metadata in Lightroom and pushed it without updating existing photos, the Metadata are correctly under the single image, but not under the thumbnails of the album. The same after uploading all images once more.
Rainer
Edit:
Created new album in Lightroom with pangolin standard page and pangolin standard album template like my other galleries.
There is no Metadata under the thumbnails.
The only album with Metadata is my first test album I made 3 weeks ago with Backlight 1.21.
If I activate Metadata 02 - filename - and upload this metadata again, the filename appears under each thumbnails of this album.
It's a hidden album:

Random things to check:
Have you checked your Publisher metadata settings in Lightroom?
There's a metadata setting that offers several choices: All Metadata, Copyright Only, Copyright & Contact Info only, etc.
Could it be that this was changed from All Metadata to another setting?
Can you check to make sure you're using the latest version of Backlight and that you've got the latest Pangolin-album module uploaded.
Are you now on Backlight 1.2.2 Release 2? Did you replace the Lightroom Publisher plugin that came with the latest version?
have you tried creating a completely new album template to see if it will put the metadata where you want it?
If that's not it....I'm not sure. Maybe I'm missing something obvious. Feel free to export your album template and email it to me. I'll see if I can publish metadata using it.

Thanks, but Backlight is up to date and all metadata are enabled.
Now I have taken my notebook and created a new album. After upload, all metadata are displayed. There must be something wrong on my PC.
On both computer the Lightroom Publisher plugin from Release 2 Vers. 1.2.2. is activated.
One word I must write:
When I was on holiday, I created all templates from there. In Backlight - Publisher - Top Level Galleries I changed for all albums from - Backlight Standard Album - to the new - Pangolin Standard Album.
But this cannot be the mistake, all albums are displayed ok - without the metadata under the thumbs.
Rainer
Edit: Maybe it is a bug
Exactly this is the error. In Lightroom I have edited the settings of an album and changed from pangolin template to okapi template. All the metadata in the caption was displayed. Now I changed the settings back to pangolin album template and pushed metadata without any changings - all metadata in the caption is now displayed too.
Try it by yourself:
- Change an okapi album in the Top Gallery Section to a pangolin album template
- Try now to push metadata from Lightroom
- No metadata will be displayed under the thumbs
- Change in Lightroom from the pangolin template to okapi template and close the window
- Open the window once more and change form okapi template to pangolin template and close the window
- push metadata without updating existing photos
All metadata is now displayed under the thumbnails.

I can't repeat the problem on my test site.
I created an Okapi based album and included metadata in both thumbnail metadata fields.
Published album and metadata appears.
I created a Pangolin-based album template that included the same metadata tokens in thumbs metadata fields.
I switched the album from the Okapi template to the Pangolin template. As expected, the thumbnail metadata disappeared.
I then republished the images (metadata only) and the metadata appeared right away. I didn't need the extra step.
Too bad, actually. If I was able to duplicate the problem it would make it easier for Ben to isolate it.

You must change the okapi album to pangolin album in backlight admin under Top Level Gallerie.
You did the wrong way.
Rainer

Correct. I changed the template in Lightroom. I didn't realize you were using the Assign Template feature in Backlight.
I'll try the other way and see what happens

Just tried it. Looks like you might have found something.
Assigning the template from Backlight resulted in no metadata showing. I tried changing back to Okapi then back to Pangolin. Still no change. In fact, what I needed to do was edit the album in Lightroom and then simply click the Edit button and republish. Then the metadata appeared.
