I have a test vegas slideshow in Pangolin. It works. If I enable in the settings of the template the caption, vegas slideshow shows only a blank frame without any image.

can you post a link to a slideshow?
Also, if you turn on the caption settings after initially publishing an album with the caption off, you'll need to republish the images. (you can use the "Push metadata...." option in Publisher set up (Lightroom)

Yes I know. I am on holiday in the Netherlands and my Mac with Lightroom and all albums is located in Germany.
I only wonder, that after enabling the caption setting, no image will displayed.

can you post a link to a vegas slideshow that's having problems?
Is there anything special happening in the captions? Like hard returns?

No, if I set the template from slideshow to album, the metadata caption is visible. In Pangolin album not, of course, because I can reupload the metadata first when I am back at home.

I'm seeing the image in that slideshow. Do you have one where you've enabled captions and the image is no longer showing?

Looking at the page source code, it looks like a lot of the captions may have hard returns in them.
In my testing, if I include a hard return in a caption, that will kill the slide show.
Since you have nearly 300 images in that slide show, it's going to take a whole lot of time going through all of them. Can you try creating a smaller slideshow, making sure there are no hard returns in the captions?

Please have a look. I set the gallery to standard album template. Now you can view the caption. There are no hard returns in the caption.

The source code looks like it's showing hard returns in some captions. And it is those captions that are affecting the Vegas slide show.
They may not affect the Fancybox slide presentation (or Matt may be sanitizing captions for Fancybox), but Vegas is a different beast and those captions appear to be breaking it.
I just added a hard return to a caption in a slide show. The slide show broke. Looking at the source code I can actually see where the hard return is. In the image below there's a red arrow where the hard return was added and another at the next line.
This is exactly the same kind of thing I'm seeing in the source code for your album.
Just telling you what I see in the source code and what adding a hard return to a caption in one of my images in a Vegas slide show did to the slide show. Use that info, or not.
Check your images' caption metadata field in Lightroom. My guess is that you'll see information on several lines for lots of pictures.

OK, thank you very much for your help. When I am back at home in one and a half week, I'll check the metadata fields in Lightroom.

Edit: I have tested it with other albums. Some work some not. Your are right what you write. But for me must this be a bug.
