I have designed a new Pangolin Theater Vegas Slideshow for my homepage. I am unsure about how to go about replacing the existing Okapi Vegas Slideshow. Would I just delete the old Okapi one and then upload the new Pangolin one? I suppose that if the new one doesn't work I could upload the old one again.

I just created a new album and put the same images in it as my Okapi slideshow and uploaded it to use. Once I'm 100% happy with Pangolin I'll delete the old album.

I just want to make sure I understand you. You are saying I can edit the current slideshow album by changing the template to the new Pangolin template, then Publish?

That's correct and probably easier than what I did. I duplicated mine only because I was bouncing back and forth between Okapi and Pangolin for a while.

Thanks, both of you. Nice website, Charlie.

You don't even need to re-publish if you're only changing the album template, unless you need to generate the thumbnails of a different size or something. It's sufficient to edit album, change template, then click Edit.

Ah, OK. Thanks.

Getting there. Just one further query. I have set a full-screen Vegas Slide Show with navigation in the header along with a logo. I have set Top Pallet for "Has Height on Desktop: no" and "Has Height on Mobile:no. But I still have my social media icons showing up at the top right-hand corner of the screen, as well as in the navigation in the header. Where can I turn the icons on the top right-hand corner of the screen off?

did you want the navigation in the header or not?
You should be able to turn off the social media icons by going to your full screen page template in the Social Media section. Delete content in all the fields.
The Menu icon in the upper right will always be there as long as you have the breakpoint set to Always. Set it to something smaller, like a mobile size.

In case it's unclear, the "has height" options for the top pallet do not hide the icons. What it does is, with height you'd have this:
@ # %
Masthead
And without height, you get this:
Masthead @ # %
So the icons overlay the page, rather than having a height to push other elements down.

Right. I want the navigation in the header. If I delete all the icons from the full screen page template Social Media section, won't they disappear from the Navigation as well? Breakpoint is set to 1024.

It would help if we could see the page
social icons don't appear in navigation unless you add them to your menu set. You can use Font Awesome icons as the Name and Link To your social media profile url

Found something I like allright.

Did as you suggested, Rod, and deleted social media entries in the full screen page template. Did a couple of other things as well, and now am happy with the resultant home page: http://randyhoffner.com

the design works well, though I'm not too keen on that particular transition effect.
I'd suggest either increasing the size of the images, they look pixelated (they're 960 px images being stretched across the monitor) or opt for one of the overlays.

Yeah, I am just experimenting with the transition effect. And on a big screen, yeah, the images are too small, aren't they?
