I can't seem to find a way to have the gallery index thumbnails show no more than 4 across on the page. With the previous version I was able to set the number of columns with the Max. Columns setting.
Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob,
Pangolin uses screen breakpoints. Under the Thumbnail Grid section of controls, look for the Columns At Screen Breakpoints section, then set the number of columns desired for each display size.

Hi Matt,
I've actually made the changes to the screen breakpoints numerous times, but after a screen refresh it still shows 5 columns.
I just tried again, if I'm in full screen mode, it shows 5 columns, but if I change the window size it changes to my 4 columns setting.

Hi Bob,
Without a link, I can only guess at what you're seeing. I also don't know your full-screen width. But the Columns at Screen Breakpoint sliders should get it done. You should set them all. So, if you have this, for example:
<= 1920 : 6
<= 1680 : 6
<= 1440 : 5
<= 1280 : 4
Then any display 1441-pixels wide or greater will display 6 columns.
Between 1281 to 1440, 5 columns, etc.

Matt,
My test site is http://justwalkingaround.com/
I think the issue I was having is my monitor is 2560 X 1440 so I needed to minimize it 1280 to show just 4 galleries in each row. In the previous version it remained at 4. Thanks for helping me understand what was happening.
Thanks,
Bob

The site looks great. Very elegant, and I'm super excited to finally see a pangolin-based site in the wild.
Glad to you were able to get a grip on the thumbnail columns.

On the galleries main page, I am getting 3 columns of rather large thumbnails representing the various albums within the galleries tree. Is there any way to make these thumbnails smaller? I cannot find a setting (like in CE4) to specify the number of columns.
The thumbnails that I am using (or intend on using) are 200x200 px, carried over from my CE4 galleries.
Thanks in advance

You can adjust the number of columns by editing the template, or you can assign custom thumbnails more suitable to the layout's sizes.

Where do I find the number of columns? I'm not referring to the thumbnails in the albums, but the thumbnails for the galleries main page... see www.caddinfo.com/photo-now-backlight.
As you will see, I am also having issues with syntax in the copy. Do I need to activate DokuWiki for it to be interpreted? See the Home page and the About page.

The only ones who need to be using Dokuwik syntax are Ben and I, when we write documentation. Backlight takes Markdown; http://backlight.theturninggate.net/doc … h_markdown.
For you galleries page, edit your album set template. There are options in the designer for setting the number of columns at various screen widths.
