When creating a gallery, or editing a gallery (either by double clicking or selecting Editing Album) it takes a minute or two for the edit album window to pop up. It used to take seconds. Any idea what to do?

Sounds like a Lightroom problem. You could try optimizing your catalog, along with any other of the general tips for speeding up Lightroom. Articles abound. Here are some of the best:
