Hi
For some reason I can't upload to an existing gallery which has been there for months nor can I upload photos to a new gallery.
I can create a new gallery but I get an error message when I want to upload photos to the gallery.
There was an update by lightroom the other day and that seems to have created this mess.
Here are the 2 screenshots of the error message that I'm getting.

Have you tried using a backup version of the catalog to see if it's a catalog problem?

Hi Charlie,
No I haven't and I'm not too sure on how to do that actually.

Assuming that you do backup your catalog (I have LR set up to back mine up weekly) the default location is in the Pictures\Lightroom\Backups folder (on a Mac, I assume a similar location on Windows). In LR just do file/open catalog and navigate to a catalog that was backed up before you started having the issue and see if that resolves it. If so then somehow your catalog has been corrupted.
If that is the case you can use the backup catalog but realize that you'd have to synchronize any folders that you have imported to or changed files in since the backup.

Hi Charlie,
Thank you for your help. I did try what you suggested by opening an older catalog but that didn't make any difference when I tried to upload new photos. I opened a catalog that was dated to prior the problems I was having.

the error messages imply a Backlight database issue on the server.
I'd suggest sending Ben an email with a link to this topic and Backlight admin credentials. He may or may not also need FTP access.

Hi Thomas, thanks for the email. I've replied to your email. It looks like your Publisher database file is corrupted.

Hi Thomas, I'm glad to hear!
For anybody else reading, the solution was to export the data from the database file and import it into a new file. That fixes the inconsistent state of the database.
