Labeling Individual Pictures

Is it possible to label individual pictures in a gallery. I just got back from a trip to several national parks in Utah and am creating galleries from each. If possible, I would like to label the individual pictures in the galleries with the names of the areas within the park.

Set the title and caption in Lightroom and then you can set the Photo caption and title in your album template in Backlight under Image Settings / Image Metadata. The caption is what will show on the large image presentation, which is what I use.

Thanks Charlie. I'll give it a try. I also saw that you have keywords there. Do you add them to these fields or can keywords be picked up as well?

My Photos Caption field in backlight is "{Title}, {CameraModel} {Lens} {Exposure} {Keywords}"

Hey Charlie, I toyed with the idea of adding more info to single images but wasn't sure I'd like it. Now that I see it on your site - which by the way is really nice - I think I may borrow your idea, or parts of it, for photo captions.

I like it as well. I shoot a lot of sports using Photo Mechanic and code replacement to add the player's names to keywords. With this I should be able to get player's name as part of the title.

Got the info to show on the individual image pages. Is there a way to do the same thing on the initial Gallery page? Also, can the font size be changed?

yes. In the album template under Thumbnail Grid > Metadata display. You may need to republish images after updating the template.

I'm missing something here. When I put the information in the Image Settings>>Image Metadata>>Photos Caption I get this.

If I put information in Thumbnails Metadata01 or 02 no text shows on the page when I delete the information I have put in the Captions box. I have gone to Thumbnail Presentation>>Meta Display and turned on Display Metadata 01 and 02 but nothing shows.

I see a way to change to the font for the Metadata fields but not the Caption and Title fields.

did you republish the images?

use custom css (in the post I linked to) to change the caption field for the large images. The title field doesn't show directly on the page, it's use in the image's title metadata attribute.

I did republish. I'm trying not to get into CSS. I don't have time to deal with all that.

what did you mean by this? I find it confusing.

By "Captions box" do you mean the Photos Caption field in Image Settings > Image Metadata?
(a screen shot might help)

Are you republishing the images every time you make a change like this
