I have finally gotten around to installing Backlight. I have set it up per the video. I added the publisher plugin, but it does not appear in the list of Publish Services. If I try to add it again, it is present in the list of plug-ins, and listed as enabled. But it is not shown in the LR Publish Services listing.
I still have CE4 installed with 3 publisher instances that do show up in LR Publish Services. They do not appear in the Plug-in Manager. Only one is listed as disabled.
Any thoughts?

How did you install the Backlight version of Publisher? Did you use the Plug-in Manager as outlined here: http://backlight.theturninggate.net/doc … _publisher
You can also simply copy the TTG-Publisher.lrplugin folder directly into the Lightroom/Modules/ folder (exact location of the Lightroom folder depends on your OS).

I did install it as noted. As I mentioned, it appears in the plugin manager but not in the publisher section of LR.

It should supplant CE4-Publisher in Publish Services
In the Plug-in Manager, is Publisher, By The Tur... shown as Enabled? In other words, is the Enable button greyed out and the Disable button active?

Yes, it is enabled. TTG CE4 Publisher is shown as disabled. In LR, I see my 3 previous instances of the CE4 publisher. One for stage, the main one for galleries, and one for an additional gallery type that I called Clubs.

In Lightroom's Publish service, is the title of Publisher "TTG CE4 Publisher" or is it just "TTG Publisher"? (if Backlight Publisher has been installed correctly, then it should just be "TTG Publisher")
Have you tried creating another Publisher instance to connect to a Backlight site?

In LR, under Publish Services, they are TTG Publisher. But the 3 instances that I had under CE4, with CE4 in their names (to the right of the colon) are the only TTG Publisher instances listed. In the Plugin Manager, I see Publisher by the Turning Gate (enabled) and TTG CE4 Publisher (disabled)

You have to right click on one of the CE4 instances and select 'create another publisher service ...' to make one for Backlight.

Thanks!
That seems to have done it. Now on to creating a gallery from my CE4 site
