Hi
Just opened Bluehost hosting account & need to move my existing Backlight site www.michaelregan.co.uk to it.
The public_html folder already has a .htaccess file in it.
Can I delete this file to make way for backlights .htaccess file? Do I need all these other files that are in public_html?
On my server backup that I have downloaded from my current host Fasthosts, I have noticed there are master.sq3 & master.sq3-journal files in backlights data folders: admin, cart, designer, & publisher. I don't think these are backlight files.
I think they are Fasthosts server files.
Should I delete these files before uploading my backlight site to Bluehost public_html folder?
Anything else to watch out for with bluehost?
Thanks

I think you can just replace the .htaccess file in the root of your Bluehost site with the one from Backlight. But save a copy of the original .htaccess file to your computer first. Or change its name. Just so you have the original if needed.
the master.sq3 and master.sq3-journal files are generated by Backlight (they are created when you first log in) and are needed. So don't delete those.

Hi Rod
Thanks for your advice.
Everything went very smoothly moving to Bluehost.
My website loads at least 5 times faster now!
Couldn't be more pleased
