The title is slightly misleading.
What I meant was that sites built and Published thru CE4 Publisher have somehow been "altered" since I installed Backlight Publisher.
They do not show the Galleries anymore. I get a "missing template" message.
In my Lightroom, I have CE4 Publisher plug-ins as well as Backlight Publisher plug-ins. Is it possible that the later Backlight plug-ins have overwritten or otherwise changed the CE4 plug-ins?

I believe that when you install the Backlight version of Publisher, it should replace the CE4 version. So you should just be seeing "TTG Publisher"
It should also have no problem managing your CE4 sites. I have a few CE4-based sites running just fine under the current version of Publisher.
If I remember, you have several sites running under CE4? Is the API URL in the Publisher instance for each site still correct? They should look like yoursite.com/ttg-be/publisher
And I'm assumming that these sites haven't been converted to Backlight?
As always, links to problem pages will help.

I had to go back, re-install Backlight/Publisher correctly and then I started to re-create the galleries as albums. Site doesn't look like much now, certainly not like it did in CE4.
Just the taught of having to redesign everything gets to me. So I'll get back to it but for now...

right, your old CE4 templates will not work with Backlight. There is a migration tool in the Publisher admin area of Backlight that will move your old CE4 albums to Backlight control. Then you'll just need to assign a template to them.
But at least designing is a lot faster in Backlight. No more waiting on Lightroom to refresh the view.

I know that designing in Backlight is faster but I just can't get my head wrapped around it. The interface, I find is quite sparse and it's difficult, for me at least, to get a workflow going.

Start with templates to get the look you want and then pages to manage the content. It's really a different paradigm than CE4 and once I stopped thinking about the way CE4 worked it was much easier, at least for me. fwiw

See if this helps

I've made a few changes in the BACKLIGHT/Designer/Templates page but nothing shows up! What I am trying to do is replicate the style used on the CE4 version, as seen here:
Seems simple enough. My Backlight/Designer/Templates pages is here:

Why aren't the changes I made showing up?

your home page is using a template with three columns, with the two trays set to be on the left. This is why the page content doesn't look centered. If you want a page like you show above, change the page template's Page Layout to One Column.
To center the image you'll need to use some inline styling.
You should see changes right away. In fact, you can click on the page refresh icon at the bottom right of any page when viewing the page while logged into Backlight. That automatically refresh the page with every change.
If for some reason you're not seeing the changes, you may need to clear template cache. Do this by hovering over Designer > Templates and then click on Clear Template Cache. Then click Clear.

I've changed the page template to one column. I'm not too sure about inline styling but the image that should show on the Home page is absent.
I've cleared the cache but still no changes on the site, except for the gallery page that although not quite there yet, shows change when I edit it.
Also, I have yet to find where I order the navigation menu from galleries, about, contact, search to having HOME, GALLERY, CONTACT (no search, yet).

Now I really did it: wanting to edit a custom CONTACT page, I must have deleted something important because now the CONTACT page returns the error message "Unable to find Contact Form for id 2".
How can I fix this?

I see the picture on the page. The styling for the navigation is missing though. I don't know why.
Try creating a new contact form and inserting it into your contact page.

I changed the site address to : http://pideja.ca/duceppe_2008-2017/
The site is now a hodgepodge of style elements that need to be unified. I still can't implement most changes on the TEMPLATES. Only the GALLERY seems to respond somewhat.

Found my CONTACT page, although the styling is rather crude.
Those navigation items: how are they blue and vertical? Can't find where those settings are.

I logged in using the credentials you supplied earlier. I was able to change the main column background and see the changes on your home, galleries, and contact pages
But your album templates seem to be using the standard page template that comes with Backlight, even though it shows that the templates are using the same page template as the other pages (Page de base).
I suggest trying to clear the template cache and see if that helps. Also try clearing browser cache after clearing template cache.

I'm not sure what's going on with the navigation.
One other thing to try is to start from scratch. Duplicate the standard page template and save it with a new name. Then make a simple change to it. Then assign this new template to your pages, album, and album set templates to see if the changes follow.

In your page template, under Advanced Customization, you have turned on the option "Disable Navigation Styling and Scripting". Switch that off again.

Thanks, Rod and Matt, I need all the help I can get...
In DESIGNER/TEMPLATES/PAGES TEMPLATES (Page de base is based on the default template):
- In the footer, it's supposed to show "Pierre Desjardins 2017, tous droits réservés." ;
- UPDATE Navigation items are black on gray and on a line. This was accomplished by reducing the padding-bottom to 5px;
- I'm still fiddling with the overall layout. As an exercise, I'm trying to replicate the CE3 site shown in a previous post.
GALLERY and CONTACT pages: design does not follow the one created for the Home page ( borders show as black lines, navigation items still off...)
ALBUMS: no formatting at this level! Should emulate the main PAGES layout.
Well at least, the is some progress....
Thanks again.

Hello Rod,
I cleared both Backlight and browser caches and the site has been updated.
However, the albums pages still fail to format correctly.
Offline
your albums were using the Standard Album Template rather than the "Album de base" template. (I thought I checked that yesterday but apparently missed that)
I used the guest log in you provided and went to Publisher > Top Level Galleries > Albums. Then I clicked on Assign Templates. Both albums showed that they were using the Standard Album Template.
I changed the 2008-2009 album to the Album de base template and it now looks like the rest of your site.
You can change the other one using the same procedure go into Lightroom and change the template of the album there.
You'll also need to change the color of the thumbnail caption text or the background to that text

Big help, Rod. I've updated most areas of the site and redone the 2008-2009 gallery.
I also noticed that I must clear both Backlight and Chrome caches in order to see the changes made. A bit of a drag, but as they say over here, "il faut ce qu'il faut" .
Getting there...

Sometimes clearing browser cache is needed for some reason. Not all the time though. Same with template cache. But yes, if you don't see the expected changes, clearing the caches is the first thing to try.

Most of the site is set, at least in a workable form.
Building albums and uploading with Publisher thru Lightroom, I can appreciate the faster workflow.
Still not proficient by any stretch, I feel I have cleared a major hurdle with your help. I must now get acquainted with the somewhat "dry" interface and get at ease with it and creative.
Thank you.
