I don't know about Bob, that's my uncle and he's pretty old and barely understands Facebook (which, come to think about it, is probably better than me....). But I can answer that
Yes, you can share templates. On the Templates page, click on a template name. On the View Template page, click on Export Template.
To Import templates, hover over Designer > Templates then click on Import Template
keep in mind, some users, like Daniel, have extensive customization through phplugins, custom css, etc. So page, album, and album set templates would just be a starting point.
But I like the idea of possibly packaging page templates along with phplugin and css customization files.

I'll tell Rob. I'm actually Rod
which page layouts are you interested in? Actually, I'll try to export page templates and put links on each of the layout example pages.
I'm often changing them though through experimentation so they could change at any time. I'm sneaky that way.

Here you go, I hope I have the right ones. If not, just post a link to the page you want. I've placed download links on each of these pages:
One column masonry album set:

Mt. Rainier masonry album:
http://backlight-rb-test.barbeephoto.co … t/rainier/
Iceland masonry album:

Thank you for your help and your reactivity. It is reassuring to know that we can have assistance to understand and make the best use of "BACKLIGHT"

It's a very good idea to place the link in your page for the futur user. May be you can do it for the other page/template.

If I get some time I'll do that. I should probably create some albums and album sets with names that describe the layout. That would make it a bit less confusing. For me, that is; I've created so many page templates at this point that it's hard to keep track of everything.

Those pages are running fairly close to default. What about those pages interests you? For example, if you're interested in the masthead appearing in the sidebar, I think it would be more helpful to tell you how that's done.

Remember, album set templates are assigned Page Templates. The page templates control such things as colors, masthead, navigation, tray behavior.
To get the look you want you first need to design a page template then assign that template to an album set or album template.
To get the look you're after, try setting the masthead so that its location is in tray 01.
In Navigation, Header, set Display to Disable.
In Navigation, Trays, set Display to Always.
If you want the same layout on tablets, then in Page Layout, set Breakpoint at its minimum.

But it's probably faster just learning how to do it. That's why I posted instructions.

Yes but is t it not faster to share just a file like you do?

it would if I had the time and I was at home on my computer and had the ability to save the file to my computer and then upload it. But I was on my iPad then my iPhone.
