thank you very much but unfortunately your css doesn't work for me, the whole album frame gets black and the color of the album description is not changing.

I understand that you don't want to modify the project page. I wouldn't do it either. But if you can't make a test page, there is no more help from my side :-(

It needn't be the case that ":hover" is the final part of your selector. Something like this ought to allow you to target those colors.
