Going on a trip and want to continue to populate my site with the Publisher album set and album settings from my desktop to my laptop. I don't see a way to export these settings from within LR. Any suggestions or directions?

You don't need to. Your templates are not created in Lightroom, they are created and live on the server. When you connect Publisher to the Backlight API URL all your templates will be available.
But be aware that albums you create with one catalog (the one on your desktop, for instance) cannot be managed by another catalog (the one on your laptop).
So unless you move your catalog from your desktop to your laptop while on your trip, you'll end up needing to manage your albums from two different catalogs.

Looks like I move the catalog from the Pictures folder as well as the primary files to a hard drive.
Re-open and reconnect in LR on the laptop between the catalog and pictures.
Do my work.
Copy both catalog and pictures to their original place when returning home and re-sync as necessary.
?Right? Sorry, just checking as I am the king of screw-ups...

Or just work from the external drive permanently.
What I do these days is keep my catalog locally on my laptop, and all of my photos on an external drive. I plug in the drive when I work, or build smart previews ahead of time if I won't have it with me.
When traveling, I will typically import images to my local drive for storage and to work on on the road, then transfer them to the external drive when I get home.
Also, all of my photos -- however they're organized further down the line -- are in one top-level folder. This allows me to move the entirety of my assets by moving a single folder. Or if moving my catalog ever breaks the connection to my photos, I can Locate that parent folder, and Lightroom now knows where everything is again. Within that folder, they're organized into sub-folders by date, shoot, etc. as you might expect.

Sounds great and thanks for the clarification! I keep mine on an external drive but it's in an array, so will copy back and forth after I get back.
