Help for initial setup please

Hi, I would like to have support doing the following. I want to migrate to backlight + pages. Currently I am using CE4 (Gallery + pages). The CE4 Pages stuff is in my root directory. I have an own home page, that I want to keep; it loads with index.html. I want to continue CE4 until I have fully tested backlight. How do I organize the files/folders (especially in the root folder) in order to achieve this? Thanks!

Re: Help for initial setup please

you won't be able to run an index.html file alongside an index.php file. You'll need to develop your Backlight site in a sub-folder or sub-domain for development and then migrate things when you're done designing.
Sounds like you're not using Publisher?

See if this helps

Thanks Rod, for reaching out. I do use Publisher though. The only exceptional thing I do is having a homepage, not constructed with CE4 pages; the other pages of my site are created in Pages and are galleries. This works all fine. I hope I can run my site in Backlight in the same way......

Re: Help for initial setup please

As in documentation, the /backlight and /galleries folders go in your root, and the migration process should also go as documented.

If using the Pages Add-on, you should be able to put the index.php and .htaccess files elsewhere. I haven't messed much with this, though, so Ben will probably have to fill you in on the exact procedure for running pages from out-of-root, as that's more his wheelhouse than mine.
