I have included on my site quite a few family photos taken over the years. It is a password protected alfbum. I would like to be able to have a search option limited to certain albums, whether protected or not. It seems that I recall that this option was available 'way back in CExx' days when Daniel Leu created one of the first.

when you create or edit an album, there's an option under the Features tab to hide the album from search

That I know, BUT I want to have a search that ONLY searches certain defined albums.
The one I remember from Dan had an admin section and you could define various items.

then disable search for those albums you don't wish to be included. The only TTG option that's ever been available is to exclude an album from search

But there's no direct way to specify the search be limited to certain albums unless you've put those album names into keywords, since search is based off of image metadata. Even so, you might want to make the keywords something like "album-albumname" (e.g "album-Jones") and and then search on
+album-albumname specific-person-keyword

Search doesn't operate on albums that are either password-protected or marked as hidden from search. There's currently no way of searching on password-protected albums.
Would it help if there was a Publisher setting (set within Backlight) to enable search on password-protected albums? That way, only those explicitly marked as hidden from search would be hidden.
