I made a fatal mistake in Lightroom, and am now perched on the ledge ready to jump!
Like a complete moron, I mistakenly removed the TTG-Publisher from Lightroom. By the time I realized what I had done, it was too late. However, I religiously backup my Mac using Time machine.
Where, oh where would I find my galleries stored in my backups? Please tell me they are somewhere that I can restore them!!!

I believe that the Publisher collections are stored in the Lightroom database. Have you reinstalled Publisher and connected it to your site?

I show the TTG-Publisher, but none of the galleries that I created. I was wondering if I restored the Lightroom catalog from a previous version if they would appear.

I think that if that isn't an option, I can revert my machine back to the last backup.

That's odd. I had thought Lightroom would keep the galleries and they would reappear when the plugin is reinstalled; strange that it would purge the collections. I suppose you could roll back to a previous state via Time Machine if you must. Else, you can use FTP and Backlight's admin to clean up the published remnants of your galleries, then create new galleries from Lightroom.

I think I'll have to try to roll back. I currently have about 2000 photos on the site, and I think the FTP/Admin choice might turn into a nightmare. I'll have to try rolling it back via Time Machine first.

I guess it might depend on how you deleted the Publisher plug-in. Did you just delete it from the folder it lives in or did you deleted it using the Plug-in manager?
I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not.
I just ran a test on my laptop. I published an album to a test site and then closed Lightroom and deleted the Publisher plug-in from where I installed it.
I reopened Lightroom and in Publish Services there was a greyed out "TTG-Publisher" with a question mark on it and "missing plugin" in parentheses.
The album structure was still showing.
I reinstalled the plug-in and everything was fine.
I don't use the Plug-in manager to install Publisher, I just drop it in the Lightroom/Modules/ folder on my system.

Ok,
Well, I restored the entire computer back to the last backup, so all the stuff I did over the weekend, I'll have to do it over. I guess it could have been much worse.
What I mistakenly did was remove the Publisher, not the plug-in, which is what I was supposed to be doing the in first place since I added the updated Backlight.

You mean that the Publisher Services in Lightroom disappeared?
If so, I don't believe that can happen. It can be hidden, but not removed. If you didn't see it in the left hand panel of the Library module, chances are it was just somehow hidden. You can get it back by right clicking on any of the control pane headings (Catalog, Folders, Collections) and making sure that Publish Services is checked.

The TTG publisher in Publisher services is what I accidentally removed when I meant to remove the plug-in.

TTG-Publisher is the plug-in. Did you mean to remove the Publisher instance but instead deleted the plug-in itself?
