I was going to create a new album sets, but after some time i decided that I no longer wanted them, so I deleted the album sets in LR and published the parent album set again. Here is the result:
As you can see there are 5 incorrect albums: scene, scene, scene, scenes on the bay, scenes on the bay.
There were the original albums I had started and deleted from LR. I republished, cleared caches both in the browser and in BL.
I do not know what to do to get these spurious albums fone.
Here is the image of the LR album set folders set for pcolabay now:
Here is the errant album set link:

you can these leftover albums in Backlight. Go to Publisher > Top Level galleries and click on Albums for the top-level gallery in question. Click on the album you want to delete and scroll to the bottom of the resulting page.

great rod, i did that but still had problems. Letting it work overnight, and looking carefully again, i realized i had changed the location of some of the date folders in LR hence was getting message that 'could not find original file'. I then created a whole new album set - Pensacola Bay http://garylittle.com/galleries/pbay/ and made certain that all of the images were available to LR and BL.
Lesson learned: WATCH OUT WHEN DIDDLING AROUND IN LR. IF YOU DO, MAKE CERTAIN THE NEW PATH TO IMAGES IS CORRECT..
