Overwhelmed!!

Hi all,
I have been using CE4 without problems and just "upgraded" to Backlight. Have read the documentation several times and I can't get my head around it. I JUST want to make individual albums that I can link to from my website pages (which has already been in use for some time). I don't want to make any other pages with Backlight because I am happy with what I have. Can someone point me to a tutorial or guidance into making multiple, individual image galleries with Backlight. Or did I waste my money?
Thanks

Re: Overwhelmed!!

You will need to have an album set created to publish albums to. Whether or not you use this page on your site is up to you.
Upon publishing your first album, Backlight automatically creates an album set page in the folder you've chosen to publish to (by default, this is the "galleries" folder)

So try following the documentation to publish your first album. You can then copy the link to that album and use it in your existing site as a text link to the album.

You won't be able to mix your Backlight albums with old CE4 exported and uploaded galleries. If you have CE4 albums (created with Publisher) you can migrate those to Backlight control.

If you can give an outline of what you have now (or a link to your site) and what you want to accomplish, we can be more specific.

Re: Overwhelmed!!

Yeah, watched the video. Re-read the documentation. I want to produce galleries like this:  http://wildlifecaptures.com/137/2265/eagle/index.html
I used CE4 for this. How can I produce just the galleries in Backlight without all the other fluff.
Thanks

Re: Overwhelmed!!

Give it a go and let us know if you get stuck.

If you only purchased Backlight then you won't have a worry about the 'other stuff'. Backlight is about designing and publishing galleries. Much of the functionality is a re-implementation of what you had in the CE4 Web Module. Backlight+Pages can control your entire site. If you had purchased the bundle but don't want it to control your site, then skip uploading the top-level index.php and .htaccess files.
