Update to 1.0.3 went smoothly (following instructions to the letter) Updated Client response to 7.0.1, also smoothly (following instructions to the letter). Added Cart 400, piece of cake. Then! Drum Roll! Updated all of the cart settings from CE4 to Backlight (again, following instructions, very very very carefully). The pricing schemes, products, etc. were complicated and I was, admittedly, anxious. But everything fell into place like bricks in a wall. Beautiful work guys. Just one niggling little thing: I had my per/photo pricing scheme stored in the "headline" metadata field. So I had to edit the metadata on a couple hundred photos to put my pricing scheme in the "category" field, then republish. Other than that it's quite lovely. Anyone know an easy way to simultaneously take what's in one metadata field and copy it to another on a thousand or so images?

Mark

Be gentle. It's still a work in progress.

there are probably Lightroom plug-ins that can do what you're looking for. Check out John Beardsworth site: http://lightroomsolutions.com/
or try posting over at Victoria Bampton's Lightroom forum: http://www.lightroomforums.net/
Lots of knowledgeable and helpful people over there.

Thanks Rod. In fact, John Beardsworth at http://lightroomsolutions.com/ had the perfect solution for this metadata conundrum in the form of a plug-in to copy metadata from basically any field to any other field. Quite handy. Very fast. Using it now.

Hi Mark,
I'm glad to hear the upgrade and transition went so smoothly for you. Forums being what they are, we too frequently hear the problems and not so many of the successes. It can get discouraging. So THANK YOU for posting your success. The occasional affirmation is most welcome!
Cheers,
Matt

Thanks too for the positive report. It reminds me of the time I bought a packaged sandwich from a petrol station that turned out to be far better than expected. I emailed the contact on the wrapper to compliment them, and only ever received a reply 'We will respond to your complaint soon"

I did, and it was good! Mexican chicken & mushroom, packaged one suburb over from where I lived at the time.

I also eat very often sandwiches, and it's true that there are good and sometimes less good!
All this to say my contentment with respect to products provided by TTG.
That's quite some time I use the TTG EC4 products, and now I'm currently testing BackLight, which I am sure will quickly evolve. I must admit that I was somewhere else if I was better, and I've tested a lot of things, only to stay with the TTG products, which seems to me to my most scalable opinion is the most flexible!
