What good is this if the page content is set in the BL pages. Is it ever used?
I have tried all of the possible placement options and nothing changes, only the text from BL is shown.

this is for page content specific to an album or album set, not standard BL pages.
for example, this album has text entered in Lightroom along with text included in the album template in Backlight
