gallery crashes after restoring defaults

I restored defaults, cleared cache, and am back to the default items, republished all from Lr and here is what the Album Set looks like:

Is this in Backlight?
are you referring to the missing thumbnail on the album set?
If so, click on "Cover Image" and select an image from one of the albums in the set.

If that's not it, be sure to post a link

Yes, this is Backlight.

What I meant was to click on the Cover Image button in the Album Set create/edit dialog in Lightroom. Choose an image from the list that appears.
In the screen shot above, you have "Random" for the Cover Image.
