Hi, after a search, the website will not be refreshed with the result. The browser window is blank. If I refresh the site manually, the result with the found albums and images appears.
Please try a search on my site: yellowstone nevada
The result is a blank site.
Rainer
Edit:
After this malfunction I often have to close the browser tab, because my homepage will not load. Clear template cache and browser cache will not help, only a new tab or window. Backlight Admin Login fails too.
First I thought, that I have to use capital letters like Yellowstone Nevada, but this in not necessary.

I don't understand the world. Suddenly, 3 hours after updating backlight to 1.02 the photo search works perfect and quick.
@Ben
Could it be, that there were proxy chaches somewhere in internet? I have no idea. This error occurs just as after update to 1.01.

Photo search error is still there. If the error occurs, I have to restart Safari. Sometimes the open search tab shows the search result after restart.

This inconsistency sounds like a server issue to me. Something that Ben will need to look at. He'll probably need Backlight admin access as well as FTP access.

The same error was in the morning on my NAS too. Suddenly the search works on my NAS, and then also on my website.
@Ben
Same Admin login you know, on NAS and Website.
NAS: tripstrilles.myqnapcloud.com

Ben will need that info, he's the one capable of figuring this out. Email that info to him.

I was able to access the site again. Seems that after awhile things "reset".
Anyway, I searched on another term, "Westport" and got search results right away.
Tried Nepal again and the site went catatonic again.
I'm wondering if there's some sort of result return overload going on. Do you have a ton of pictures with "nepal" in the metadata?

Yes, but a search after - appensa - only 3 or 4 images same error. Some times they are shown, sometimes when the error happened not.
Search for hawaii also broken. For some hours ago all these searches work fine.
Rainer
Edit:
New search, blank window again. After some minutes click on refresh, the search result appears.

Hi Rainer, I'm not able to see anything amiss in the Backlight admin. I think I asked this previously - can you find your Apache error logs and see if there are any errors coming up?
Is there a way I can FTP into your NAS?

You've got mail.
The search operates in the description text of the albums (not the album sets) and the keywords of the metadata, stored in the images.
Because all my images are stored in a professional photo database, they have a lot of keywords. So all my images of Nepal have this keyword, the other images equivalent. Hawai'i, Tansania ....
But I wonder, that I cannot find with backlight 1.02 images, I've found with the old version.
Or I click the refresh icon and some times the found images will be shown.

Hi Rainer, I've had a look through the search code on your site, and found what looks like a performance regression.
Search is only meant to retrieve the metadata and rendition data for the photos displayed on screen. This was an improvement over the previous behaviour of pulling in the metadata and rendition data from all photos returned by a search, including all those on subsequent result pages.
For some reason the Backlight search had lost this performance change.
I've commented out the errant code in backlight/publisher/application/dao/SearchDAO.php, and searches with large result sets now load in good time, e.g.
http://www.rainer-goergen.de/backlight/ … one+nevada
I'll review the circumstances behind this performance issue and make changes in the next maintenance release.

Wow, thank you very much for your help.
