Why does my about and contact page look like my home page?
Inserting contact form does not show up.

in the Menu Set, have you assign the About and Contact menu item to the About Contact pages

Tried a couple of different ways. The menu item I assume is Pages then contact or about. The contact option is missing.
Entering about/ or contact/ does nothing.

I don't see any about or contact directories in the directory structure. Are they one the same level as galleries and backlight?

that's because they're not in the directory structure.
Go to Design > Menu Sets > Your menu set and make sure you've assigned the About and Contact pages correctly. Try setting Link to to page and then choose the page.

I don't see Design anywhere.
I don't see Menu Sets anywhere.
When you do a Link to and choose about nothing happens.
When you do a Link to the only thing showing is about there is not contact.

Designer is at the top of the Backlight Dashboard (sorry, going off memory and called it Design)
Hover over Designer and click on the Menu Sets link

When you do a Link to the only thing showing is about there is not contact.
Have you created an About page? (I thought there was one with the Pages module by default. You are using the Backlight + Pages?
