I've placed a .png image and a .jpeg image in the backlight/templates/upload images directory. They do not appear as choices in the drop down box for identity plate. Is a different file type required?

Hi Mark, I think we didn't explain the meaning of backlight/templates/upload images well.
By that, it should be click on the Backlight menu, followed by Templates then Upload Images. These uploads are managed directly within the Backlight admin pages.

Similar but different problem, I cant find the templates link!
Under backlight on the drop down menu I only have : settings, publisher, visit site Docu.. , Store. There is no 'templates' link to click on. And on the page itself is : backlight settings, manage users. Special links: view phpinfo, list phpmodules, phplite admin.
Should i be looking somewhere else?

The above should be the Designer menu, not Backlight. Look for Designer -> Templates.

Also, Backlight is at version 1.1.1
There are new features, updates, and bug fixes. Recommend updating.
