Hi all,
I'm getting publisher set up and so far, I'm very impressed, but…
The TTG icon doesn't appear in the Lightroom Publish Services, and the plug-in manager says "it may not work".
When I publish images, having chosen a gallery template, image folders get uploaded but the pages don't populate.
Sure must have missed something in the set up.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Don

what version of Lightroom are you using?
The only thing I can think of is that perhaps you didn't unzip the Publisher download?
Try extracting and installing again.
Try placing the .lrplugin file directly in the Modules/ folder (in the same Lightroom/ folder that Web Galleries/ is found.)
as to your pages not being populated, can you provide links to albums and a link to your uploaded template?

Thanks for the insight, Rod.
Unzipped and installed as demonstrated in Matt's video tutorial.
Tried extracting and installing twice now.
I re-installed the plugin in the location you suggested, and the Status messages says: "This plug-in is enabled, but has encountered some problems". In the left side bar of LR Plug-in Manager dialog, under TTG CE4 Publisher it says, "Installed: may not work"

that's not where the CE4-Publisher.lrplugin should be installed.
It can be in any other folder on your computer and you can use the Plug-in Manager to install it. Or you can put it the /Users/don 1/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Modules/ folder
see the installation instructions: http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … oom_plugin

your gallery seems to work fine.
You'll need to upload a gallery to /ttg-be/templates/gallery/ for use with Publisher too.

Yep. Moved the plugin back into the Modules folder where I originally had it. I mis-read your post to put it into the Web Galleries folder.
Still no resolve to my situation, which is disappointing to say the least.
Maybe I'll try installing this on another machine to see if it works.
I have a template installed in ttg-be/templates/gallery but Publisher doesn't appear to see it. Only folders of images get uploaded, without an index.php, etc.

what's the name of the template?
You should be able to see it (it will look like a regular gallery) at

FYI...
Installed Publisher Plugin on my MacBook Air and TTG Icon shows up just fine. Got confirmation of API Key.
I'm wondering if my desktop computer is getting too old for this era…?

I know that I've hit the ceiling when it comes to Mac OSX, but is there an issue with recent TTG current versions and older processors? Just curious.
Thanks for all your time and thought.

Yes. And there's something dreadfully wrong with your template (and I don't get to use the word "dreadfully" all that often!)
http://www.quatrainfotographic.com/ttg- … portfolio/
The gallery template is missing most all of its assets (basically the entire lib/ folder is missing, and probably some other stuff too). Try exporting and uploading again. When you upload, make sure you upload the entire exported gallery folder. And use an FTP program rather than Lightroom's Upload feature (if you were using LR Upload before)

I can't comment on this, I'm not a Mac person. But perhaps someone who is will chime in.

Looking a little more closely, I see that for some reason, the gallery template is looking for its assets at:
/ttg-be/templates/client_portfolio/lib/
rather than
/ttg-be/templates/gallery/client_portfolio/lib/
I can't explain this.

Hi Rod,
I did a clean install of all TTG components with Fetch FTP software.
Deleted previous versions. Did the Admin set up to be sure. Set permission to folders to 755.
Re-located template to URL you noted, as it was misplaced by one level.
Re-wrote the template from my laptop, in LR6. Re-installed Publisher Plug-in.
Uploaded new gallery via LR TTG Publish Service.
Inside ttg-portfolios, sophiasenior is the new gallery which should be using the "client_portfolio" template. All that resides inside that folder are folders "photos" "thumbnails" & "thumbnails-for-mobile". Other than 'auto index.xml' and 'gallery.xml', there is no index page, or any other supporting files that should've been written from the template.
I'm stumped and fatigued trying to solve this.
Sorry to be such a lost child here. With that said, I'm honored to be in the 'dreadful' hall of fame!

did you try setting permissions to 777?
when viewing via FTP can you see files like template_index.php inside the /ttg-be/templates/gallery/client_portfolio/ folder?
( a screen shot of the contents of this folder might help)
I looked at the autoindex.xml in sophiasenior/. It shows "locked sophiasenior" , which is something I've never seen.
My guess is that there might be some server issues going on
at this point I can only suggest that you contact Ben and provide your Publisher logs and Admin access to ttg-be as per:
http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … g_for_help
he may need FTP access as well

I'll follow up with my service provider to inquire about the permission setting number, and other issues. It'll be a couple days until I can post an update here. Thanks very much for the valuable leads.

Upgraded my ISP account to Linux cPanel via GoDaddy, and all server issues are resolved. Template and new galleries are loading in.
There is however this one nagging, little thing, however.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/988 … _LRCat.png
Why doesn't the TTG icon load? Diagnostic report from LR Publish Service dialog confirms that there's no icon available. I've deleted and re-install the plug-in a few times. Perhaps I need to re-install LR? Running v5.7.

Sorry, I have no clue as to why that's happening. If it was happening to me I'd probably be doing the same thing you're doing
you could take a look in the CE4-Publisher.lrplugin folder to make sure that the ttg-icon.png file is found in the supporting_files/ folder.
One thought: did the lightroom plug-in get renamed somehow along the way?

Hi Rod,
When the ZIP file is unzipped, no "supporting_files" folder can be found anywhere within the Publisher folder or its subfolders [and of course no ttg-icon.png either].
Didn't rename the plugin...
As I mentioned, the icon appears and the plugin works without producing an error message on a newer machine.
At the end of the day, it's eye-candy, and the missing brand/logo doesn't make any impact on the functionality of Publisher. I'm sure you guys [developers] have bigger fish to fry than this.

there are two folders in the zip file: publisher and CE4-Publisher.lrplugin.
the supporting_files folder is inside the CE4-Publisher.lrplugin folder

Here's how it unzips on the older machine, MacPro…
Can't "open" the CE4-Publisher.lrplugin, as it is not a folder.

I realize that the icon is nested inside the plugin, and only accessible when loaded into LR. There's no other way to get access to the icon.

Marvelous! Thanks for revealing this command… I had no idea that was there.
Now… I can plainly see these PNGs, but how does LR get to see and display the icon in the TTG CE4 Publisher Header? Drag and drop into the Publish Manager window doesn't work. Feels like I'm just one cloaked-click away from solving this caper!

One thing you could try that often fixes all sorts of Lightroom weirdness is resetting the Preferrences file.
