Hi,
I want to create new link label in #08 Nav Hyperlink (Prints) and link it to an external web site.
How do I do that?
I am using auto index, gallery and pages.
Thanks

Just provide the label and url, beginning with http://

Matthew,
Step 1 is done... made changes to Nav link in Pages.
What do I do next?

Export and upload again.
You can get away with uploading only the page files: index.php, mobile.php, galleries.php, services.php, etc.
You'll also need to make the same changes in all your autoindex and galleries. Re-export and upload all of these.
It's for situations like this that I always recommend enabling phplugins right from the start. With phplugins enabled you can make a change like this in one file and it will show up in all pages.

And since you'll need to export and upload all your index files anyway, might as well take the opportunity to enable phplugins. Just in case you need to make more changes in the future.

Hey Rod,
phplugins is enabled from the beganing.
How do I proceed?
Offline
Start with the documentation: http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … #phplugins
In the phplugins.php file there are three sections you can use for navigation, depending on the type of navigation you want to use (single level, multi level)
Use a plain text editor like Notepad++ for Windows or Text Wrangle for Mac to edit the phplugins.php file and find the section of the code that pertains to the navigation type you're using. The code is well commented so you should have no problems locating it.
Once you find the section that applies, edit the code to reflect your navigation. Be sure to notice the lines that will need to be removed to activate that part of the code.

Rod,
I exported new auto index, gallery and pages to my desktop (just single level nav, Home, gallery, about, contact).
What do I need to export to site to see new nav?

As long as you didn't make any other changes, like text or styling, you can get away with just uploading the the index.php files in autoindex, the index.php and mobile.php (or index.html and mobile.html) for galleries, and all the page files for Pages: index.php, mobile.php, galleries.php, info.php, etc.
did you decide against going the phplugins navigation route?

Not sure how to use phplugins navigation.
I installed phplugins navigation when I created the site per your recommendation.
It's in place... How do I use it to add Prints to my nav bar?
I added Prints to the nav field in auto index, gallery and pages.

How do I use it to add Prints to my nav bar?
by editing the phplugins.php file to add the navigation item to the proper area and activating the navigation function by removing the indicated lines.
I just posted a tutorial on this: http://ttg-tips-and-tricks.barbeephoto. … phplugins/

I edited the phplugins.php per the tutorial, uploaded it and I get the old nav bar.
I must be doing something wrong.

might be your path to phplugins. It should be this:
/home/content/w/p/a/wparks79/html/gparksphotos/phplugins
if that's not it, feel free to email my your phplugins file using the link under my name and picture.
