How to add pages and photo on page

Hi All,
I am new to this but the site is looking pretty good... need to polish things.

How do I add 2 new pages (Links & Prints)?
How do I add a photo to the About and Contact page?

Any ideas for improvement(s)?

Thanks
Gene

Re: How to add pages and photo on page

You have two options for adding photos to those pages. The easiest is to designate a Page Image. Place it in either the main content or the sidebar: http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … page_image
The other is to use html and add an image to the block text.

And there are a two ways to add more pages. Since you're only using Home, Galleries, About, and Contact, you could purpose the Services and Info pages. Maybe use Services for print info and Info for the links. You can label the menu links any way you want, but the page urls will be services.php and info.php respectively.

The other way is to use Stage (or autoindex for that matter) to create stand-alone pages. When exporting name them "prints" and "links". Upload the exported folders to the root of the site (in your case, the gparkspix/ folder). the urls to those pages will end up being /gparkspix/prints/ and /gparkspix/links/ .

Re: How to add pages and photo on page

just figure out the number of columns the sidebar is taking up. If it's for, then try 4/12 x max page width. If it's just a small picture I wouldn't think you'd need much more than about 300px on the longest side.

But try it out and see how it looks.

Re: How to add pages and photo on page

Hello & help,
Are there beginner instructions for creating and adding new pages to my site?
Is it easier to rename the Services page to Prints?
I am using autoindex, gallery and pages.

Re: How to add pages and photo on page

you could purpose the Services page to Prints. The url will still be /services.php (you can't change that), but you can set the label to anything you want in the Navigation Hyperlinks section of Site Info.
http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … hyperlinks

or you could use Autoindex to create a page. Disable the grid and just use the block. When you export it, name the export "prints".

Upload the entire exported folder to the root of your site. The url will then be simply /prints/

You'll need to add a Prints item to your Navigation menu for Pages as well as all your galleries or gallery templates. (Unless you're using phplugins to manage your navigation, then just add the new navigation item in the phplugins.php file)
