You can state the keywords (meta name) general in the templates. But is not possible to change them per album or album set. So I would need to have for each album or album set a template or to change the result files indivual. That's make no sense.
Have I overseen something?

You haven't missed anything.
But meta keywords aren't all that important anyway. If you do a search on "meta keywords SEO" you'll find plenty. Like this: https://chrisedwards.me/seo/keyword-meta-tag-google/
And this by the developer of the widely used WordPress SEO plug-in: https://yoast.com/meta-keywords/
You'll be better served by placing keywords throughout an album's or album set's descriptive text and in image captions and image names.
