I have CE4 Galery and CE4 AutoIndex, not CE4-Pages. In a very old version, I used, it was possible to have a central shared resources for the galleries. Here I have only the choice to use the resources in CE4-Pages. I have a lot of galleries and there should be only one resources for the galleries and the several auto-index too. ( I have several auto-index too.)
How can I do that?

the Shared Resources with Pages feature has always relied on Pages.
You might be referring to using custom css via phplugins?

No, I have the gallery 1.6 (no "CE"!) and there I use a real shared resource. So I hoped this feature was not dropped, because it was essential for me to decide for TTG.
When I have a custom css, do I have a shared resource? Are the lib-directory not generated for each gallery and not read each time, displaying a gallery?

Well, it's been for Pages for a long time now.
Custom css just shares any custom css you've written with any page where you've enabled phplugins.
