the border setting in Galleria applies to the container. You'd need to have images of the same aspect ratio as the container and also large enough to fill the container for the Galleria border to act as an image border.
There may be a custom css solution, but I've not looked into it yet.

No. Borders on images mess up the gallery's measurements for the image, and so the positioning doesn't go well.

an option is to process images in Photoshop and add a stroke to them. Add these images to your Lightroom catalog and use them in the slide show.
Not an ideal solution, but if it's just one slide show (like the opening show for your site) it might be worth doing.

Thanks, Rod, for the suggestion. It is an interesting one but probably one I can't use. I an currently reworking my web site using the CE4 modules Gallery and Stage. You may recall my wanting to use the same textured background in all my screens. The slide show option in CE4 Gallery doesn't support that, but Galleria in Stage does. So does the video option in Stages. I am coming down to deciding which of the three, Gallery, Stage Galleria, or Stage Video is the one I want to use for all my galleries, present and future. Right now I am leaning towards Galleria.
How would I open my web site with a slide show? Is there something in the documentation to which you can point me? This is something which occurred to me only this afternoon.

If you're using Pages there's an option to have a home page slide show.

If you're not using Pages you could use Stage as a home page
