I have been using CE4 gallery very happily in LR5 for the last year and then I updated to LR6 and the upload is working at snail speed uploading maybe 1-4 images before it crashes out and give me the following error message.
Error uploading rendition.
Unable to complete the action.
Headers: { [error] => { [errorCode] => "timedOut" [name] => "The request timed out." [nativeCode] => -1001
}
}
Doesn't matter where I am or whichever internet access point i am using, same result. It is now making CE4 unusable.
Any ideas on what the issue is?

If you're using Lightroom's Upload button, stop. It's chewy garbage in a hard garbage, garbage-sprinkled shell, wrapped in garbage. Export to the desktop, then use an FTP client to upload your galleries. Or better, use CE4 Publisher. If you need a primer on FTP, we've got that:

Hi Matthew, sorry I wasn't clear enough with my post. I am using CE4 publisher to upload. Had no problem for the last year and then over the last couple of weeks have had this problem.

As Rod suggests, you should post the question in the CE4 Publisher forum then, including the information Rod links to. There Ben is most likely to see it, and will be more help than either of us on this particular issue.
