I’m using CE4 Web Publishing Bundle.
Why is the size of my thumbnail page equal to the PC and mobile? Example: http://fotomats.se/galleries/0-evenemang/
They are so small that they become blurred (in auto-index) even on the mobile! The size is only 154x103px!
It has no effect what settings I set. Right now I have these settings (both in auto-index and gallery):
And yes I have uploaded the pictures after each change and the “Push metadata…- box” is not checked in Publisher setup. :-)
What I'm I doing wrong?

Hi, looking at the first gallery, which is the source of the thumbnail used in the Auto Index: http://fotomats.se/galleries/0-eveneman … ttarbesok/
The template 'Galleri Fotomats' specifies that thumbnails have a maximum edge of 154. You'll need to upgrade your template, and then re-publish the galleries.

Hi Ben, thanks for your respons.
I have now tried for an hour to find number 154 and 103. I have looked in the gallery, auto-index and even in page. But I'm not able to find the setting where this numbers figure.

in CE4 Gallery Output Settings > Image Renditions
http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … renditions
make the changes, export, and upload the template, overwriting the existing one. You'll need to republish the images.

I also suggest renaming your template (Galleri Fotomats). It has a space in its name and that can cause problems. In both file and folder names use only letters, numbers, underscores, and dashes. No spaces or special characters.

I have now exported new gallery and index template and rename them so they don't have any space, capitals or special characters in their names.
Before I published the new albums I erased the old ones. But the sizes of the thumbnails will not reflect my settings in Output Settings > Image Renditions (my settings for the thumbnails is Width = 900px and Height = 600px). They are still 154x103px!?
What do I overlook?

You may have found a bug.
It appears that the thumbnails generated are sized by the cell width minus the total of any padding rather than what's set in Output Settings.
Your cell width is 170px and your cell padding is probably at 8px left and right. 170 -16 = 155.
I don't believe this was the behavior in earlier versions of Gallery, but I'll have to check and see.

I thought it behaved differently in earlier CE4 versions. I'll check it out though and see what happens

I went all the way back to the first CE4 Gallery release (6.0) and the behavior is consistent. The thumbnails being generated are based on cell size and padding.
This isn't necessarily a bug. Just think about it. If you're generating 600x900 px thumbnails for an entire gallery or album, that can dramatically slow down the page loading, most likely driving viewers away.
And you are using the Iconic autoindex layout, which is meant for custom thumbnails anyway.
So your options are to either create and use custom thumbnails for the indexes or redesign the gallery template so that thumbnails of the size needed for your index are generated.
See the section on custom thumbnails here: http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … album_sets

Thanks for the help! Now I know why the thumbnails are blurred and how to fix it.
600x900px is only numbers that I used to see if it would make any difference. I will make them smaller in the final version.
Again, thanks!

I was a bit confused about it too. I thought that I could set the thumbnails rendition to a larger size and be able to use those larger thumbnails in an iconic index while at the same time the gallery would size the thumbnails via html for the gallery grid using the html IMG height and width attributes.
But that would still have the potential for really slowing things down depending on the thumbnail size you wanted to generate.

This is a feature, not a bug. Using the CE4 Standard layout, the plugin determines the necessary size for thumbnails based upon cell size, padding, and borders. Using Iconic or Masonry layouts, the plugin then uses the user-defined Thumbnail Width & Height.
