Old to new

I have been using TTG Auto Index 3.3.1 and HTML Gallery for a long time and have many galleries/sub galleries. They no longer work in LR CC, I get a brief flash of the gallery in the Web Module then the work area turns completely white. I have exported and it works, but without the preview it is dicey!

I'm not opposed to spending the money so do I need to move to CE4? What is the best way to adapt to CE4? Is this going to be compatible with the Auto Indexes already in place?

Help!

Re: Old to new

I'm guessing that your old autoindexes will index CE4 Galleries. But they won't look anything like each other. You're better off getting CE4 Autoindex for a few reasons: it looks better. It's completely responsive, meaning the indexes will look good on all devices, and it uses the latest html 5 and css 3 standards.

As you've seen, the really old ttg plug-ins won't work in LR 6/CC, you'd have to revert to LR 5.7 if you want to use them. So if you want to use ttg with LR6, then CE4 is the only way to go.

Best way to adapt? Just dive in. The plugin layout in CE4 is probably a little different than you were used to (things get moved around) but you'll find it pretty familiar.
You'll need to start your design from scratch, but Matt has provided several starter templates that you download here.
And if you decide to either modify one of those or come up with something new, you can share your settings between plugins. More on that here.

CE4 Publisher will make reposting your indexes as album sets and galleries as albums a lot quicker than needing to export and upload each and every index and gallery.

Re: Old to new

OK, following along with the directions, have a problem on the TTG-BE Install: I have put the entire ttg-be folder into the public_html of my site:

http://curtdennisonphotography.com/ttg-be/admin/

and I get:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: array_walk_recursive() in /home/curtd1/public_html/ttg-be/framework/init.php on line 9

Re: Old to new

do you know if your hosting meets the TTG requirements for php?

Hosting
Linux OS
Apache server
PHP 5.2.6 or newer, with SQLite and PDO modules enabled

CE4 plugins are not standalone software, and require Lightroom to run. Content should be published to the Web, requiring a domain name and standard web hosting. Hosted website services such as those provided by LiveBooks, Squarespace, etc. do not qualify as standard web hosting and are incompatible with output from TTG plugins. For quality, affordable, TTG certified hosting, we fervently recommend Bluehost.

Re: Old to new

I use Lunarpages Hosting and all the above are correct, but, I don't know where to check the SQLite and PDO in the Control Panel (CPanel11).

I think it's something Ben will need to look at then.

Re: Old to new

Your server is running PHP 4 (the underlying cause of that error).  There should be a way to change it to PHP 5, either through the control panel or by contacting your host's technical support.

For your interest, PHP 4 has not been supported by the PHP developers for a number of years.  All hosts should provide PHP 5, or at least the ability to switch to PHP 5.

Re: Old to new

Excellent.  With that error gone, it looks like you're on PHP 5 as well.
