I've been away for a while but now that I'm back I can get publisher to work. I have a screen shot which should tell you a lot but I can't remember to to include it. Please advise.

to post screen shots, put the jpg on line. Then in your post, click on the image icon (next to the color wheel) and paste the url to the image in between the img tags
also be sure to post a link to your site.

Here's the screen shot. Unrelated question...How can I tell if I have the latest versions of CE4? Also unrelated, I just watched part of a video on how to install CE4 in 20 minutes. Would it make any sense at all for me to start over completely. That is, start with a new download of all the parts of CE4, load them in LR5, redesign the pages and galleries. I'm thinking I can keep the TTG-Be files/folders on the Site. It may be easier to start over rather than try to fix what is wrong. BTW-I right clicked on the data folder in TTG--BE and noticed that the numeric value was 755. Should it be 775 or 777? I'm using Blue Host and I'm on PC.

your screen shot won't show because you've placed it in the ftp section of your server and it requires a log in. Please put the image in the public_html section and post the URL (http://yoursite.com/screencap/image.jpg) to the image in between the image tags.
(I'm removing your ftp link so the log-in dialog won't keep popping up)
How can I tell if I have the latest versions of CE4?
Look at the top of Site Info and compare your version to that shown in the change logs for each plug-ion on the Doc page:
http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku.php
For Publisher, Cart, and the online component of CRG, look in ttg-be

Bluehost uses 755

I triple checked the characters in what I sent to you. Everything matches. Is it possible that I need the www after the slashes. If so, here it is. http://www.martinjenichphotography.com/ … 22_15.jpg. To be clear, "screen_caps2" is a self-created folder on my site under "public_html" . It's at the same level as all other folders.
i don't know what else to do.

still get a 404. Are you going to the image in your browser and copying the url directly from the address window?

First I went to my site using Filzilla. I found the file "screen_caps2" and clicked on it and then right clicked "copy url to the clipboard". I sent it to you. Thats when you said I went to the FTP folder. However, the folder was clearly in public_html". I did not understand how that happened so I then manually typed it and sent it to you. You then got the 404 error. I'm now thinking that it might be a problem with Blue Host. The guy who helped me with fixing my e mail sort of implied that I would need help with other problems but i told him that I thought the problem was with the TTg software. BTW I too tried to type the URL into my web browser and got the 404 message too. I don't get it.
After I sent you the url I realized that I did not include it using the image icon. Sorry. Here it is as you requested. I typed it in manually.
Offline
that still doesn't work.
But I was able to find it by just going to the screen_caps2/ folder and seeing it in the index there. This is the url
http://www.martinjenichphotography.com/ … 022_15.jpg
the problem was that you're actual url has spaces in the name (as shown by the %20 in the url above) and when you typed it those spaces weren't include. This is why it's always best to go to the image in the browser and copy the url, then paste it between the img tags.
My suggestion is to re-take that screen capture and get all of the error message so that Ben has something to look at. Or just copy and paste the error message here.
You might need to gather other log info as outlined here:

Looking at that screenshot, it looks like the file Documents/ttg.log should shed some light on the problem. Can you find this file and email it to me via the Email link under my name?

I have good news and a few more questions. The good news is that it publisher is working just fine. I've worked with it for a few days and across catalogs and it's performing as it use to and as expected. Although I'm not 100% sure , I think it had to do with the changes bluehost made in the ports, etc. in relation to the e mail question that they solved. I assumed the e mail problem was unrelated to the publisher problem. Once the e mail problem was solved I went to work on publisher but did not try to publish anything at that time. After a few days, and on a whim, I tried to publish again and it worked. I was shocked but I'll take it. When it works, it is really slick and so easy to publish and republish. Now my questions...
1. For future reference, I'm unclear how to put the screen shot image in the browser. I tried going to Filezilla, finding the folder, "screen_caps2", right clicking and then copy the URL to the clipboard. When I pasted it, it said I was in public_ftp. It was clearly under public_html. How do I put the image in the browser so as to allow me to copy it?
2. Should I rename Screen_caps2 on my site to make it easier?
3. How do I get rid of the file names on each images as they appear on my site. i unchecked it in Image Info-metadata 1, then rendered it (control R), then updated the settings in the template and it still shows up on the images on my site. I also went to Output settings, Publisher setup, metadata 1 and tried to remove file number. But there was no way to have nothing there. I left it on file number.
4. Do you guys still support Fottomotto as a good way to allow clients to buy images from my site?
Offline
1) when you went to Filezilla and copied, it looks like it copied an ftp address. You want a url.
To get that, simply go to where the image is in your browser. Once you see it on screen you'll know you're in the right place. Then just copy the url from the address window
if the image is in the /screen_caps2/ folder then just go to http://yoursite.com/screen_caps2/image_name.jpg in the browser.
What I usually do is copy the filename directly from Windows Explorer. The I upload it to my /screen_caps/ folder. In my browser I type in barbeephoto.com/screen_caps/ and then paste the filename in after screen_caps/ and hit enter. This takes me to the picture (which confirms it's in the right place). I then copy the full url from the browser's address window and paste that between the IMG tags in the forum.
2) Totally up to you
3) If you go to Output Settings > Publisher Setup you can highlight the name of the token and hit delete. That will clear it out.
After you make any metadata changes to the template and upload it, be sure to also republish all images affected. You can speed this up by going to Publisher Settings and checking the "Push Metadata..." check box.
(you may also need to clear your browser's cache to see changes)
4) Yes, CE4 Gallery supports Fotomoto. Look in Output Settings
http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … y_fotomoto

Regarding 3) above. I went to Publisher Setup, deleted all the tokens in all the fields. then tapped Control R, then updated the template. Then went to Publishing Manager>other publisher settings. Clicked on "Push Metadata...." Tried to save but it would not allow it. In fact when I opened the Manager before I even clicked "push metadata" TTG...was not saved. Any ideas. Then tried to publish and also tried republish and the file name (actually numbers) are still there on the images on my site. They are not shown in LR. Any ideas?

Do you have more than one CE4 Publisher instance set up? If so, are you using the right one?
did you ever send that log to Ben?

Do you have more than one CE4 Publisher instance set up? If so, are you using the right one? ANSWER: It's possible that I'm using two. How can I either tell which one I'm using or can I just pick one and make sure it's the right one and all connections are made to that folder?
did you ever send that log to Ben? ANSWER: No, I didn't see a need to as it seemed to be working just fine.
New Question...I'm using Filezilla. They have a new version. last time I downloaded a new version, it did not work well. At your suggestion I went back to the old one. Do you know if anyone has had trouble with the latest Filezilla and if so is there an easy fix?
Offline
there are "fixes" posted in the Filezilla forum. A Google search should bring them up.
You'll know if you have more than one CE4 Publisher instance because they are all listed in the Publish Services control pane.
As to which might be the right one, that depends. Some people have one to manage their galleries/ folder and one to manage, say, a clients/ folder.
I suppose you could accidentally set up two Publisher instances where each of them can publish to the same folder. Each will have different albums.
If you're getting error messages again, be sure to send the logs to Ben

You'll know if you have more than one CE4 Publisher instance because they are all listed in the Publish Services control pane. RESPONSE: Only one shows up in the Publisher Services Control-along with Facebook, Fliker, Behance. When I right click>edit settings is where I get TTG Not saved and clicking on the save button does nothing to save it.
I can't publish again. I tried deleting the version of publisher that was in Filezilla and uploaded a different publisher. now I can develop a gallery in LR try to publish it and all indications are that it is published but it doesn't show on my sight. I tried hitting Control with no success.
I have a screen shot of the multiple error messages and have it on my desktop and it's on my site in the screen_caps2 file. How to I "go to where the image is in your browser" to copy the URL so I can put it in the IMG icon above?
I'm wondering if this is the same problem that was solved by the Blue host guys having to do with the port. Did I screw things up when I deleted the publisher version on my site and uploaded a second.
I've found the logs on my site should i send it to Ben? Can he see this conversation to see what my questions are?

You've placed an image online in you screen caps folder. Just put the address to that image in the browser's address window, something like this
http://yoursite.com/screen_caps/image_name.jpg
And hit enter.
Your picture will be in the browser.

when you say you develop a gallery in LR and try to publish it, exactly what do you mean? Using Publisher, after you've uploaded a gallery template to /ttg-be/templates/gallery/ you no longer need to create galleries in LR, rather you gather images in a Publisher collection and publish them.
I'm also not sure what you mean by
I tried hitting Control with no success.
To clarify what I meant by "going to the image in the browser" is to enter the URL of the image location in your browser's address window, like this:
http://www.martinjenichphotography.com/screen_caps2/Jenich_LR_screen_04_30.jpg
go to that url: http://www.martinjenichphotography.com/ … _04_30.jpg and you'll see the image. Copy and paste that url between the IMG tags.
The reason I suggest doing it this way is that you'll know the image is there, and by copying and pasting you eliminate any typing errors.
Yes, Ben can see this conversation. But it's still a good idea to send him the logs along with a link to this thread.
Are you using the latest versions of Publisher and TTG-BE?
You can tell by going to TTG-BE and viewing the version numbers there and comparing them to what's listed in the changelogs found on the main Docs page: http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku.php
I can already tell by looking at the source code of one of your albums that you're not using the latest version of Gallery. You're using 6.1.3, the latest version is 6.1.5
There have been updates to both Publisher and TTG-BE since then.

Still waiting for logs before I can add my input. Since the error was a week ago, can you replicate the error before getting the logs? That way anything relevant will be towards the end of the file.

Ben, you can see his latest error here:
http://www.martinjenichphotography.com/ … _04_30.jpg
It looks familiar to an error seen a few months ago.... and I see something about crg in it, which makes me wonder if it might be from an older version of Publisher and/or TTG-BE

Thanks Rod.
You need to make sure you have the latest Publisher and log in to the Publisher admin to complete the upgrade process.

I want to get the workflow to solve the problem straight as well as ask for help where I need it. I need the latest version of Publisher. To accomplish that I'm trying to download it from the TTG site but can't find a way to do so. That will ensure that I have the latest version-correct? If so, how can I get the latest version from your site. Then after I unpack it, I use filezilla to delete the current publisher and replace it with the new one that I just downloaded- Correct? The I go to the TTG-BE folder, log in and then do what?
Offline
you can get the latest versions of the plugins by either using the link in any of the emails containing a download link or you can go the Find your Order page (link in the sidebar of the blog) and enter you order number and the email address from which you ordered.
to upgrade the online part just follow the instructions n the Publisher Change log (found on the main documentation page). I think there are also instructions in a readme file included in the download. You don't need to delete the old folder, just upload the files designated in the instructions.
Then login to ttg-be and the updating process is completed automatically. No need to do anything further with the online component.
You should replace the Publisher Lightroom plug-in and restart Lightroom
