ttg-be folder permissions

Wehn I load my ttg-be folder, into the folder with my pages files, as described in the documentation http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … tion_setup

and then try and access the ttg-be/admin folder I'm greeted with a permissions error message.

The default permissions are 755,

If I change the permissions for example to 777 I have access to the folder. Is that then a security problem?

The default permissions on the ttg-be folder are 755. My domain is hosted on a Plesk Server, OS Debian 6.0.10
Is there an ownership conflict with the folder?

I ask this because I am having trouble authenticating my publisher plugin in Lightroom with the ttg-be installation.

Changing the permissions on the folder may allow me to continue with my installation, the question is will it cause challenges around the corner?

The other question I have is regarding the Search folder, in the docs file it says move

"Using your FTP client, you will need to move the /search folder into place. Locate the folder at /ttg-be/publisher/search, and move it to the top level of your site (i.e. public_html/search), such that it becomes accessible at http://yourdomain.com/search/."

I want to have two installations of my website, one for English and one for German.

domain.com./de
domain.com./en

if I understand correctly, after installation, I should move my serach folder to domain.com

How will that work if I have two installations? Can the search folder sit in
domain.com/en/search
domain.com/de/search

Give it a try. I just created a couple of empty folders in the root of my site and dropped the search/ folder into each. It seems to work fine from either location.

The search folder can sit pretty much anywhere. The restrictions are that ttg-be doesn't reside in a sub-directory that search isn't in, and that search be no more than 20 levels deeper than ttg-be.

These pairs are okay:

/ttg-be
/search

/ttg-be
/my-site/search

/my-site/ttg-be
/my-site/search

/one/two/three/ttg-be
/one/two/three/search

/one/ttg-be
/one/two/three/search

This is not:

/one/ttg-be
/search

You could in theory copy search/ to multiple locations, if that made sense for your site navigation.

Thanks for your explanation. Do I need to change the permissions on the folder from 755 to 777
when I have uploaded to my server?

If 755 isn't working for you, try 777

Hi Rod,

Changing the permissions to 777 works. My problem now is authenticating.

This is a re install of Publisher, it was previously authenticated, Ce3 works still.
Where can I find my authorization code? Is this something form CE3?

The default API Key is ttg9999
You can change this in Publisher Settings in TTG-be
