Fatal error

I recently upgraded from CE2 to CE4 and uploaded my site. I have the latest versions of Pages, Publisher, Wordpress, Gallery, Cart, and Auto-Index.

When I go to the blog page,  I get this message: Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() in/home/content/65/9258665/html/blog/index.php on line 1

Any clues?

Re: Fatal error

did you upload your theme in the blog/wp-content/themes/ folder?

a quick Google search suggests that perhaps the theme isn't uploaded to the correct folder

also check to make sure you're running the latest version of WordPress

Re: Fatal error

Sounds like you might have a bad WordPress install. The get_header() function should be defined within WordPress (not the theme), so it sounds like you might be missing WordPress files.

Re: Fatal error

Does this mean I have to talk to Godaddy about this?

Re: Fatal error

I uploaded the theme to the root level. That is to say I first exported with the name blog. Then the resulting folder was uploaded to the root level. Is this not correct?

Re: Fatal error

no, it's not correct.
you should first install WordPress on your site if you haven't done so already. If you're going to use it as a blog, then install it in its own folder. For example, for my site I installed it in a folder I created named "blog"

Then upload your exported theme for WordPress. In my case that was /blog/wp-content/themes/

You'll need to activate the Theme from the WordPress back-end by logging on to your WordPress installation.

Re: Fatal error

Ok, I had gotten it to work for a little while, then I made some updates to my site and uploaded. Now I am getting the Fatal Error again. The theme is uploaded to /blog/wp-content/themes/  Wordpress 4.1 is installed.

Re: Fatal error

when you made your changes and uploaded your theme again, could you have inadvertently uploaded to the /blog/ folder rather than the /blog/wp-content/themes/ folder?

Re: Fatal error

I wonder if the old theme remains in the /blog/ folder and is causing problems. Is there any way I can tell...are there files that shouldn't be there that I can look for?

Re: Fatal error

Do you still have WordPress' base themes installed (2014, 2014, etc.)? If so, try switching to one of those and see if your blog comes back. That at least should narrow down the issue.

Re: Fatal error

I'm guessing that points to the WordPress installation then
