The documentation for CE4 Publisher says that in step 2 I need to find CE4 Pages > Appearance > the Gallery control group. However, I've looked everywhere and there is no the Gallery group under Appearance. There is a control group called Gallery/Media Area, but I don't see the controls the directions describe. Am I missing something here?
Thanks,
Darrell Leland

It's above that, in green text.

Sorry, I seem to be the king of "It's not supposed to do that!" This is what I'm seeing:

The screenshot you just posted if from CE4 Gallery, not CE4 Pages.

That screen capture is from CE4 Gallery, not Pages. Look in CE4 Pages > Appearance.

OK, sorry for seeming so dense. I'm finally beginning to figure out what my problem is here. Shouldn't CE4 Pages be showing up here?

If you've installed Pages correctly, it should. From that screen shot, you've only installed CE4 Gallery.
Make sure you've installed Pages in the correct place.

OK, I'm seeing what has happened here. I purchased Gallery and Publisher. I don't have Pages.
Very friendly (honest) recommendation for the future: This software is fantastic. But it needs an easily found "CE4 for the complete idiot" place for people who don't have much background in this sort of thing to go to. A good start would be something in the tour on the webpage that says you begin with CE4 pages and then buy modules that add functionality to it if you need them. I think that you could reach a much wider audience if that happened.
Thanks,
Andacar

you mean this: http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku.php?id=ce4_101 ?
and there are a couple more beginner's tutorials to go along with that one at the top of the Documents page: http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku.php#courses

Except that wouldn't be quite right. A lot of users only use Gallery and Publisher to supplement their existing websites. Or some users opt to use WordPress and CE4 Theme for WordPress as their base in lieu of CE4 Pages.
So starting with CE4 Pages is one path, but it's just that ... one path.
So we provide the tutorials that Rod has already indicated, and are gradually working to expand the knowledge base with additional resources as CE4 continues to develop.

I see. In my case I think I'm going to start with Pages and then perhaps figure out other ways to do things later.
Thanks again.
